Here’s a question from the original Big Girtha’s clamping thread… What’s the proper way to place a clamp on the penis?

A penis is not round and cable clamps close to an oval shape. So you put it on so that the oval shaped penis fits into the oval shaped clamp. A wrap should be used (a single sheet of facial tissue folded lengthwise into a 2 cm wide band will do) to protect the skin from pinching. Put the clamp on the shaft as close to the pubic bone as possible. The “handle” should be toward you so you can open the clamp easily.

Not trying to steal your thread. When I clamp closest to the pubic bone, the clamp moves upward of about an inch or 2. Is there anyway to prevent this or would I have to hold it in place?

I use two clamps and place them so that the hinges intersect. I find that this does a lot better job of keeping the engorgement.

But isn’t pressure supposed to come from sides of the penis? If you follow the shape of penis with the shape of clamp, pressure will come from above and below. We don’t want to compress the dorsal vein, right?

Also, when I start clamping, I’ll wrap my whole penis (as described by sparkyx) to prevent discoloration.

Yeah, I’ve been placing my clamp like in #3 of your diagram mostly to put less pressure on the CS and dorsal vein.


Size is little more than a controllable perception without an accurate means of measurement.

So if we are not trying to put pressure on the dorsal vein what about those who use velcro clamps? If we do put pressure completely around the base, how long before the pressure starts to damage the nerves and dorsal vein?

Clamping is supposed to prevent blood from leaving the penis. Clamping veins is how that is done. The point is not to put pressure on the rest of the penis, but to prevent blood from leaving. Since the recommended clamping session is 3 x 10 minutes with rest between clampings, putting pressure on the CS and dorsal vein shouldn’t be a problem.

Two clamps are not recommended for those new to clamping. Try one first until you get used to it.

I find that I get maximum expansion with the two clamps. I do place both of them as close to the base as possible, but at an intersecting angle. I do not exceed 10 minutes per set, so I guess I should be fine. I was just wondering about those that used a velcro wrap or something similar which applies an equal amount of pressure around the shaft at the point of attachment. So I guess that as long as you don’t surpass the suggested 10 minutes then you should be fine.

I use illustration #1. Which one is the correct way?


Started: BPEL 6.75" MSEG 4.75", Now: BPEL 7.75" MSEG 5.438", Goal: BPEL 8" MSEG 6"

jb, I imagine that clamping with a unified pressure such as those who use the inflatable clamps would be the most ideal but since cable clamps don’t have a unified spread I’m hesitant about putting the most pressure on the dorsal vein and my CS because I’d rather have a working dick than a large flopping one. When I started clamping my CS particularly was the most sensitive and would take longer to recover than the CC’s. By focusing on putting the pressure on the CC’s my sessions are longer and recovery time improves substantially.

As a note: It would seem that by clamping the CC’s (#3 and #4), my CC’s grow the most so my unit becomes wider rather than taller. Haven’t actually checked this… just looks that way.

I furthered this idea because of concerns I had while using steel cable clamps. Instead of jb’s way I unscrew two cable clamps all the way and combine the two. When the two sides of the clamp are adjusted I feel as if they pull the sides of the penis in more and naturally close into a more oval shape when you get them adjusted right. I also use the clamp for my Capn’s Wench and find it grips much better without taking up the space that a plastic cable clamp does.

Is this the only way you have clamped throughout your PE career?
