Clamping w/or without heat?

Clamping w/or without heat?

Is is necessary to use “heat” while clamping. Or could someone point me in the right direction on that particular aspect of clamping? I have been clamping for a couple months, with no warm up and no injuries. 3x15 minutes. May have gained 1/8” though not sure yet. I know it “feels” fatter for sure. But my main question is will or does heat help in gains and how do I go about doing this? Thanks.

Those who have used heat in conjunction with their PE routines often swear by it, though I and many others have made good progress through clamping without the need for heat or warmup.

It’s really a personal preference - if heat feels right for you, stick with it. If you’re curious, make a ricesock* and experiment for a few weeks with that.

* Sock full of rice. Take a sock, and put 1/2 to 1 cup of uncooked rice (straight out of the box) in it. Tie sock or sew it together. Place in microwave (time varies depending on how much rice you put in your sock and on your microwave). This is every bit as effective as the washcloth, and you don’t get wet.
