Coming Soon... Gain Master - PE Software!!

Update! Looks like the release date for the packaging software I am waiting on is getting close. And not only that it will be FREE!
I was really concerned on how I was going to get a copy. It was about $800.

I found the following post on Microsoft’s Developers Site:

This morning we are announcing that the developer extensions and runtime will be available for FREE! In the past, Access developers had to purchase the Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Office System in order to build and deploy runtime solutions. The product was costly at nearly $800 for the full version and $550 for the upgrade. This really is great news for Access developers.

We are still working on the finishing touches—I don’t have a definite release date but rest assured the team is working hard to finish the work.

So what’s the deal? When is the PE software going to come out? I’m excited about this, but it looks like this thread has stalled.

Well… I’m waiting on Microsoft to release Access 2007 Developer Extensions and Runtime. This will allow users to install the software without having to have a copy of Microsoft Access. Otherwise you need Access 2007 to use the application. If anyone has Access 2007 PM me and I will send you a copy.

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about this, so I want to let you all know the status of our 2007 Access Developer Extensions (ADE) project. As we posted before, the Access 2007 runtime is going to ship with the ADE, and redistribution of the runtime will be free for those of you who build runtime solutions. We have been slowed down a little be some source management / build issues on this project that came from the way it was set up. We’re getting through those issues and are nearly done with this project. We fully expect to get it posted to the Internet before the start of summer. We know you’re waiting to get your hands on this stuff, and we’re moving on it as quickly as we can. We want to be sure that what we deliver is the right product and are working through the last bits of getting it built and tested. We’re very happy to hear of the demand for the products and are working hard to get them ready and shipped. Thanks!

What about the Access 2007 demo?

Would that be enough?

Wow! This would be awesome if completed.

Not only is it pure convenience, but crunching the numbers would keep you motivated and keep you consistent with your routine.

phantasm, by “demo”, do you mean the beta version?

Will it not work with Office 2003?

Unfortunately, No. It only runs with Access 2007. It will however work with the beta version.
I actually used the beta version with the initial design.

I’m eager to get in the hands of some users so I can get some feedback. It’s really helped me chart my progress.
