Connective tissue- FIRST "THREAD OF THE YEAR"

Id like to add, that as a professional researcher in the fields of sports medicine and weight training,

High frequency, medium-low volume workouts, where intensity is the progressive factor (go from medium to high) have replaced the traditional intense workout style.

All research now supports higher frequency (3x a week per bodypart or more) workouts. While this isnt the same as PE, I believe the two are similar.

What do you think would work best Xerp long duration - low force stretching/hanging or short duration - high intensity stretching/hanging for PE, since you come from a professional background? Maybe a combo of both at certain times which is what I do with ADS and Hanging for my PE. It would be interesting to hear your opinion on this.

IIRC, the ideal range is 104 to 112 degrees.

So if too much heat could actually be negative.. How do we measure the temp since I’m assuming we’re talking about the temperature inside of the penis?

I ask, because I’ve warmed up by putting a heating pad down my pants and it gets pretty hot. I’d like to make sure I’m in the ideal range, but not beyond it where it’s actually detrimental. I’ll be reading more threads on IR heating methods as well and since they have penetrative heat it could be even easier to go beyond 112 degrees.

I doubt we can accurately monitor the internal temperature. You could place a thermometer next to your shaft skin to get a rough idea of skin temperature, which probably isn’t too far off. Or, you could wrap the thermometer up in your heating pad by itself and see how hot it will get. Most newer ones seem pretty wimpy.

I don’t know about the internals, but I know first hand it’s possible to burn your skin using a rice sock and not realize it. The sock felt hot, but not that hot.

I disagree. Short, intense workouts once or twice a week increase fast twitch muscle fiber which is the most energy resourceful muscle type- thus you burn more fat whilst putting on quality muscle.

Shorter workouts (under 40 minutes or so) also have the benefit of increasing testosterone and growth hormone without releasing stress hormones.

Furthermore, research seems to indicate that HIIT training (short, intense sprints) is the best form of cardio.

Go hard, but get out quick. That’s the best gym philosophy. No long slogs on the treadmill or tediously long weight sessions for me.

All this is based on my results and this man’s research (http://www.mode rnforager.com/b … y-conversation/ )

By the way, I don’t think exercise and PE are analogous, although short intense sessions may be worth a try.

Thanks.

I put the heat pad down my pants, but above the boxer briefs for about 10-15 minutes on the low setting while lying back. I flipped the penis up or down every few minutes to change which side was heating. I then measured by placing a digital thermometer at the top base of my penis and brought my penis up to cover the thermometer. I repeated this (without a cool down break) on the 3rd and 4th settings, skipping the 2nd since the 1st was too low.

1st (low) setting: 98.2 F
3rd setting: 99.9 F
4th Setting: 100.2 F

About an hour later (30 minutes of which were pantless) the temp in that spot was below 96 F. Pants back on it climbs again.

About 30 minutes later I decided to try to wrap the heat pad around the bare penis and held the fold with my boxers and pants. After about 6 minutes on the 4th setting I could really start to feel the heat. However, when measured it was only 97.5 degrees. So I put it back on for another 15 and got a reading of 98.8. Odd, because you’d think with skin contact and a full wrap it’d be more effective than it was when I just put it down my pants, but above my boxer briefs. Possibility is that in the earlier test I used the lower settings first and did not allow a cool down. So by the time I did the 4th setting and got a reading of 100.2 degrees, I had already been under heat for about 40+ minutes at various settings.

I also measured the skin temp of my arms just by placing it on top and got readings of 91.4 - 92 F

Do you think after heating up using a heat pad that the skin will be cooler or warmer than the internal temperature? Our internal temperature is naturally warmer than skin, but with an external heat source I imagine it is possible that the internal blood flow would actually act as a coolant rather than a heater.

If anyone that uses a IR Lamp or IR Massager could check their temps, I would appreciate it. And give details of how long, distance from heat source etc. I’m still reading IR threads, but haven’t ran across anyone with a temperature measurement.

Thanks.

I can see where you’re coming from. It (blood circulation) probably would act as a cooling mechanism.

I would say the skin temperature reading would always come out lower than the internal temperatures, as the skin is designed to lose heat. Also a thermometer would not be able to pick up the true temperature of the skin as the skin has such a low volume to surface area ratio, and would not be able to transfer much heat to a small point such as the thermometer head.

Ok. So you you think the blood would act as a coolant, but that internal temperatures would still be warmer than external?

I guess that is likely considering a few points. The blood is body temperature (98.6F) so it will not be able to cool as well as the air in the room which is roughly 72F. With a greater temperature discrepancy there should be greater heat transfer. However, air isn’t as adept at taking body heat.

Secondly, it’s not just blood inside of the penis. There are the CC and CS as well other tissues that might hold the heat better than the skin even with the blood acting as a coolant.

I’m going to sharpen up my thermometer and jab it into my penis to get a better reading.

lol rather you than me :D

book mark for me

Wow, great thread, I wondered about this myself, and now I know.

Awesome thread. I will be trying heat up/cool down routine using the autoextender.
