Set-up time is a factor
I have tried ADS, Manual Strertching and Hanging.
My gains were measurably better when I was hanging … but it was VERY time-intensive and required a great deal of privacy … neither of which I now have with any level of consistency.
Given that it is widely accepted that consistency is king … My view is that, for me, manual stretching and jelquing is the best approach. The biggest factor for me is the lack of overhead associated with manual stretching. If I find that I have 30 minutes of privacy, I can initiate a manual stretching session with almost zero set-up time. If my privacy is abruptly ended … I can also terminate the manual stretching session very quickly.
The same cannot be said for hanging. A hanging session requires wrapping, application of the hanger and then the weights. This doesn’t take a ton of time once you get the “hang” of it, but the set-up time for a hanging session is way more than the zero set-up require for manual stretching. Also … terminating a hanging session if your privacy is abruptly ended tends to resemble a Benny Hill skit!
For me … for now … manual stretching is the best answer
