When someone is on TRT, why is there an increased risk of prostate problems? Is it because increased testosterone levels means very increased level of prostate fluids that have to be expelled like twice a day?
With the PSA test that he had and I have had although I don’t do TRT, it’s sort of apples and oranges. Many things will change a PSA blood test read - upward. 789 might have had sex close to the time of the blood read, or done PE, or edged, or something. Or, because he is doing testosterone replacement therapy and testosterone “feeds” some cancers, doctors become concerned if his PSA goes up from his last read, which was very low. They would be more concerned in his case, seeing an increase, than with those of us who do not do TRT.
He’s getting another blood draw soon to compare. We’ll be interested to see what those results are.
I doubt that testosterone increases prostate fluid output. Men with very high T levels may not produce any more ejaculate than those of us who fall in the normal range, or low range. I don’t know where the “twice a day” thing you mention comes from. Certainly there is no such “rule.”
