Hairy problem

I have hair which grows on the shaft of my penis which doesn’t look very good and pulls uncomfortably when I hang or jelq. I often get ingrown hairs if I shave the area. Any one else found any better sollutions?

I have the same problem. There are all sorts of creams to remove hairs, haven’t tried that. I just shave it and make sure not to go against the growth direction. At first there was some in-growth but that went away.

I very gently shave my shaft as well. I also shave the area where my penis meets my pubic bone. That way I do not have the problem of pulling any hair when I jelq from the very top of my shaft which I relly prefer to do. Be careful shaving. You do not want to knick your shaft. It can be nasty if you do. It requires a little time to learn how to use the razor so that it barely skims along the skin. But you do end up with a baby smooth shaft that feels great.

I’ve been thinking about trying one of those hair regrowth inhibitors to see if that works better. Some claim to stop hair regrowth for up to 2 months and supposedly will stop a significant proportion of regrowth permanently. There is one brand (high profile, independantly documented and well advertised) that is sold through chemists (drugstores) here which claims to have results based on clinical trials and is safe for even the most *sensitive* parts of the body. The only drawback is that you have to either wax or tweezer the hairs first - OUCH!!!! I’m fairly cynical about these things but in Australia we have strict laws concerning advertising and if a product can’t deliver what it advertises then the law comes down on them very heavily. I’ll give it a go and see if it works.

Be really careful that you do not apply anything to your penis or tesicles that will cause any serious skin damage. I still think that shaving is the safest way to go. Good luck.

I too have had ingrown hair problems in the past from shaving. Tried plucking a couple of times, a lot of work, but still had a few ingrown hairs. Bottom of shaft seems especially prone to them.

Thanks to Groa and Hugh Jorgan, I don’t have that problem any more.

HJ8 suggested sterilizing the razor with alcohol and Groa suggested using Neosporin as an aftershave.

A good hot rinse before the aftershave treatment seems to help also.

The smell of the Neo can get a little strong, but it is better than the dam ingrown hairs.

I finally bought some Magic “shaving powder”. You actually follow the directions on the can and just mix it with some water….no razor. Used it on my scrotum and lower shaft area for about 6 minutes (you have to follow the directions strictly on the time to avoid irritation!) and I came out with the smoothest nutsack I’ve ever had. Much easier than shaving. I picked it up at my local Wallyworld (Wall Mart) for about $1.65. I’m totally impressed with this stuff and it looks like I may only have to use it once a week or so. My advice is to trim your pubes that you intend to remove as short as possible first. DONT prewash with soap…and if you’ve recently shaved your pubes wait a couple days. Also if for some odd reason you have any kind of sores in your genital area or “razor bumps” down there wait until they clear up to use this stuff. Otherwise….it works AWESOME! The type I bought is in a silver/white can with green and black print on it and has Vitamin E and Aloe in it. You’ll find it in either the area with the shaving stuff or the “ethnic care” area as it is marketed toward black men “to prevent razor bumps”.

Saw your post somewhere about the Magic stuff. Sounds great but I can’t find anywhere online that sells it and we can’t get it in Australia :( Shipping might be a problem too as aerosol cans fall into the Dangerous Goods catagory.

Think I’ll still try the inhibitor and hopefully my penis won’t drop off or get burned to a crisp - then I’d really have some serious PE work to do!!

KMart is the original, WalMart is maybe a step or two below that. Much more agressive in the recent past. They will find OZ, resistance will be futile.

In my neck of the woods, Kmart is about 2 steps above Sanford & Son’s salvage yard, on a good day. Of course, I live way out in the sticks, but all the Kmarts here blow big time.
