My girth was very much on the slender side (slightly over 4”) before I started to PE. As much as you want. Set your goal for 1/4” from where it is now (length included), and strive for both of those goals. Then raise the bar ever so slightly. That way it will keep you motivated to continue.

My own experience tends to back up andro and MagnumXXL01’s claims. At 6” pre-PE girth, I’ve never met a woman who couldn’t accommodate it (length is another story—as andro mentioned, some women are shallow.) How one “lays it down” has a lot to do with it, I suspect. Your mileage may vary.
