The BC is one of the first things to start contracting during a Kegel.

Hi mate, I know it’s an old post but I am a tad confused :|
On your post Locating the bc muscle it explains that there is miss-conception of the term “BC” muscle with the term “PC muscle” in females. I makes out that the PC muscle is pretty much the same thing but for guys it’s called the BC muscle.

I have to point out that men contract a different muscle than women when doing Kegels and it isn’t the PC (pubococcygeus). It’s actually the BC (bulbocavernosus).
But as explained on this page I am getting another story giving me the impression that a guy has both and that there’s a way to distinguish the difference between them.
As previous stated, I am very confused by all of this
If possible, may you please explain what this is about. I am hoping to start exercising my BC muscle and would like to feel satisfied that I Am exercising the correct one :)
Thanks heaps!
James
