I’ve experimented with different jelqing techniques and schedules over the past 6 months or so and I thought I would share what I have discovered. Of course, this is what works for me. It may not work for you.

I pretty much just jelq. I do some light stretching on and off but my main focus is jelqing.

I use an overhand alternating sitting down 2-3 second stroke.

Basically what I have discovered is that erect jelqing not only is dangerous, but completely ineffective.

I erect jelqed for two months and saw a decrease in length of .25 inch. My width was reduced by .50 inch. This was after recovery from three day impotence after I gave up erect jelqing as an “advanced” technique. Of course, we all know erect jelqing is dangerous. You could burst a vein. I think however it is unlikely you will burst a vein. In my experience, the real danger is loss of dick.

The worse advice you will ever hear is to erect jelq as an advanced technique. You know, to make your dick bigger means that it must be bigger when jelqing is the only way it will get bigger in reality. You know, dont do this as a beginner. This is false bullshit. Never do it!

Be very careful with those touting erect jelqing as some advanced technique - it is for advanced idiots.

It does not work if you study it. I have spoken with others and the results are the same.

Do a ten minute routine (tell that to an erect jelqer - lol - they need an hour routine to combat the dick shrink) and see where your measurements go.

What I have learned is split or on and off days routines work best. You need rest days. It makes sense to jelq and rest. Or use very light daily schedules.

I’m using a a light 5 day a week 10 minute jelq routine and I have gained over an inch in length and .75 in width in just one month
of correct jelqing. I alternate this with a day on and day off schedule. Some of this gain is probably cumulative but most of it is through adherence to these basic principles:

1) Less is more. 10 minutes is more than enough jelqing time to stimulate growth.

2) Rest days are more important than jelqing days. You must rest. If not every other day than do a light schedule and take the weekend off.

3) Do not jelq erect or even close to it. 50 -70% is perfect. You need blood to force around in your dick. An erect dick stresses it too much and will need a very long recovery period. A recovery from damage and destruction and atrophy. Not growth.

Yes, it will look big when you do it - but you will lose and lose big in the end.

Avoid erect jelq suggestion posts like the plague!

4) Start your jelq from total flaccidness and let it build.

10 minutes per day 5 days a week is great.

20 minutes every other day is very good too.

Remember, it is better to rest too much than to rest too little.

One guarantees recovery and growth and the other is wasting time.


I’m curious to know what your exact routine is, and what were you’re starting measurements and what are you at now?


Its a very simple routine. It wasn’t always like that.

Basically I jelq (overhand, 2-3 seconds long strokes) for 10 -15 minutes 5 days a week. I try to not jelq at anything beyond 50 -70 % erect. This is easy. I start the jelq from flaccid and it never gets above 60%. I alternate this biweekly with an every other day jelq week of 20 minute jelqing days.

Basically I’ve gained a little over an inch in length - most of it in the past month or two

That’s it.

Most of the routines posted here are excellent examples of extreme overtraining. These people are growing very rarely and mostly just barely recovering from damage.

Just try what I say for two weeks and measure.

Proof is in the pudding.

measurements, lets just say I’m a total shower. Almost 6 inches when flaccid. But now its starting to go in a grow direction.

I find it hard to believe you lost size from erect jelqing, I can see no gain on length but on girth “no way” at least half the guys on this board have made girth gains with erect jelqing. So you shouldn’t insult what works for other people because it doesn’t work for you.

I agree with Dino. Just because something doesn’t work for you doesn’t mean that it will not work for others. There are guys here with a lot more experience than you who feel that it does work, at least for them. And comments like “advanced idiots” are out of line.

Also how about some info on your starting and present stats? And who are these other guys that share your opinion?

Actually, most if not all pe sites and pe information available on the net agrees with my statement to never, under any circumstances jelq when erect because it is dangerous. I say, yes it is, but it is also relatively ineffective. Many who do this do very long routines and include hanging and such.

If you want to see how ineffective it is, lose the forever, obsessive, way overtraining routine and break it down.

Do 20 minutes of jelqing every other day for one month and then do erect jelqing the same way for a month and note the results.

Erect jelqing should never be promoted - it is too dangerous. People injure themselves all the time with that. There is nothing advanced about it save for the kind of injury you can get. But I’m not even saying this which ends the argument right away.

I say it doesn’t work and if you isolate it and compare, you will probably see the same thing.

Nice and easy does it.

Also, can anyone point to a major study (where they actually know what they are doing) involving penis comparing that uses bp measuring?

If is so the right way, how come nobody uses bp measuring? What, is there one study that uses it?

Could it be that it is not accurate at all?

Because slight changes in posture can make differences of up to half an inch? Because weight changes affect it?

And finally, do people press with different strengths (based on an individual kinasthetic awareness) even on different days?

Can anybody else see how inaccurate bp measuing is?

So, to sum up, never jelq erect and measure your dick from whence it comes out of your body.

Nearly every good study does bone pressed measurements, this is to correct for the suprapubic fat pad. If I gained 35 lbs my nbp measurement would decrease by about 1”, however my bp measurement would not change. Yes I have noticed that posture convary results of bone pressed measurements by up to

1/8-3/16” depending on how hunched over you are. If you are careful to be consistant with measuring posture bp measurements are remarkably accurate, varying less than 1/16”. My nbp measurements vary by up to 5/8”. The reason that bp are more reliable is because it completely removes the possiblity of “ruler creep” (ie the edge of the ruler inadvertantly being put deeper in the fat pad than before). As for your comments about erect jelq, I have no major disagreement with what you say except that they can be used to gain girth, I too have found them ineffective for length. I think you have a point about overtraining, I’m not sure I would take your conclusion completely though. Some find it necessary to do a shock routine temoprarily to break an annoying plateau, some actually back off or stop Pe then resume it and resume thier gains. cheers.

Fuck the studies dude, real world results are what counts. I measure BP and NBP, and so should we all. Remember dance, he gained in the BP measurement but not the NBP. Now if I remember rightly he made a theory about why this was so and changed his routine to fit, and gained a small amount, although I am not too sure on that, maybe he will chime (random clock reference) in on that. But if he only measured NBP he would not have got his small gain, and if he didnt measure NBP he would not know it was a real world gain.

Actually, I have done both and I have found greater inconsistency with bp measurments - although to be honest - I have found some inconsistency with both ways but I think sometimes we reach greater states of erection than others. But on average, I find bp measurements can vary wildly depending on:

1) posture - and tilt of pelvis and pelvic region

2) bloating - anything that causes bloating or water retention can affect this area and all areas of the body - too much salt in your meal, allergies, food intolerances etc. This can cause diff. in measurements form day to day.

3) Extraordinarily critical - pressure used with ruler on bone.
There is no true endpoint with bone measuring - just your tolerance for pain on that day. You could penetrate that area and hit the bone if you went hard enough. And there are all sorts of little pitstops along that route. It is not a solid endpoint. Plus just what point are you measuring from? Where do you go at your bone from? If you can see that by eye, you can note where your dick begins and measure there.

So you see, while nbp has some problems like where to start measuring - which can easily be overcome by just “resting” your ruler right where the dick begins - I find little variance doing this - , bp has lots of problems including where begin the ruler plunge against bone.

NBP gives true, simple, painless measurements. It is actual dick that we are after - not some area of the body that is subject to many influences - many of which have nothing to do with any hidden dick.

So yes do it both ways but nbp is the only measurement that means anything. BP can mean many different things and can be very misleading.


One last thing. I think actively trying to stretch your ligaments in such a profound way like with hanging or “advanced” stretching could be asking for much trouble down the road. Ligaments in the body are not meant to be stretched like that - they are meant to have taughtness and give support. Ligaments are not muscles.

I wonder if those who go after length in this way - by actively trying to stretch the ligaments - could be in for trouble in the long term. Maybe not. Buit ligaments are not by design meant to be stretched.

I always thought the way jelqing achieves the legnthening effect is, in addition to a mild stretch to the associated structures and ligaments, is through the bolld pushing forward to the head creating width in 3d. Width at the top of the head will equal length. So, it all expands outward which brings length and width.

Not by wholesale stretching of ligaments.

That sounds dangerous imo.

And one further last thing

I have gained 40 lbs at a time and found no difference whatsoever in nbp length. I think it is wrong to say how anyones fat areas will behave - it is very individual. Unfortunately, there are other factors which can effect how that area behaves making it essentially useless as a measuring technique.

Newbie, I seem to remember you being an advocate for some reason of the nbp method. Hey if that works for you go for it.
I reason that all the same variables (pelvic tilt, etc. are also present with nbp method). I say do both, but for different types of information. Let me tell you, I don’t cate what your tolerance is for pain once you hit the bottom you hit the bottom and cannot go furthur.

Tell the man that gains and loses again 40 lbs that the inch that got hidden was not real dick!! Then he goes on a diet, 5 months later without any PE he gets his dick back. Medically speaking (I am an MD size is ALWAYS measured BONE PRESSED in the clinical setting).

You make some good points newbie, in theory.

One thing you missed which affects both is ruler shyness, dont know about you but myself and others have commented that you can have a rock solid erection on second but when you grab the ruler, a little retraction occurs.

But if I had to do only one way, I would do BP. Your first and third points are really down to the person measuring. I always measure stood up with enough pressure to press lightly against the bone and I have gotten the same measurement each and every time for the last 2 1/2 years, given a full erection. Same with NBP now that I think of it.
inaccurate measurements are in the eye (or the hand?) of the ruler-holder, maybe people are a little hopeful and push harder one day or whatever. Both methods can be totally accurate if done the same way consistently.

Also i disagree that stretching ligs can be dangerous. What kind of problems do you think will arise from this? Some of the vets like bib have been at it for years with no reported problems.
