JES knockoff strap replacement

Question for you JES/ Andro device users- my silicone straps [and my foam comfort liners] are pretty much shot- hell, the silicone stretch straps no longer have any grab and my head just pulls it all the way out of the slots until it slips out.

First- anyone know of a suitable replacement/ substitute? Something from Home Depot?

Second- is there an alternative or adaptation that would free me from the slipping of the silicone strap altogether?

Bumpity bump.

Hold the silicone strap by placing a strip of cellotape across the top if it running from either side of the plastic base. If you flatten the cellotape in pace firmly you’ll have no bother, I use it for 3 hour sessions daily and have done for at least one year without replacing the silicone strap! No idea how to replace the foam pads though!

Do you mean to secure the tape into the ‘valley’ receptacles that the strap fits into?

Secure the straps into the holding notches as normal, but before they get a chance to spring out again place the strip of cellotape across the top of them and run it right across the curved recesses on either side, pressing it down firmly. Sorry if that’s not too clear, but I can’t manage a pic as I need a new USB cable for my camera.

Either I misunderstood how you do that voodoo you do so well, or your cello tape is that much better than mine ;)

BUT! I found a solution. After getting frustrated with the bloody straps and flailing about for a replacement, I simply dusted it with Gold Bond baby powder- the thing has so much friction now that I might even be able to actually add tension rods.

Yeah I know that this post is pretty old,
But here’s the solution that I’ve been using forever since my first silicon strap broke.
It works as a charm, it’s adjustable, never slip, never loosen, very durable (never changed it) and I’m sure they don’t want to use that on their device
(Though it’s the best solution IMO) because they wouldn’t make money out of it afterwards.

But since this device cost a lot of money to begin with, I think that being cunning on controlled-expiry fragile straps is a wise thing to do.

Search for: *Sleeping Bag Straps* on google..
Or go to any Outdoor sport store, or any camping section on a hardware store.
I’m pretty sure you’re gonna find some.
