Kegals gave me a poor bedroom performance...

Kind if upset about this one fellas. I’ve been doing PE for a little over 3 months now, but never did any kegals or at least nothing major. I’d do a few here and there, like to intensify horses or periodically during jelqing but never a pure kegal set. Anyway, yesterday I was in the car and did several sets of 50 kegals because I had a ways to go and lots of time on my hands. I did some fast, and some I held for several seconds. Everything felt fine. Today I had sex with my girlfriend and after a few minutes things kind of shut down. I had a very tough time maintaining an erection for more than a few minutes. It would go down, and a few minutes later I was able to get it back up only to be disappointed again with it going down another minute or so later. Every guy has his bad days in the bedroom - I’d say that once every 10 times or so I’ll have a few bumps in the road to overcome, but I ALWAYS overcome them and we finish strong. Today I couldn’t overcome them and we didn’t finish and it really bothered me. It wasn’t until later in the day that I realized that yesterday was the first time doing a kegal routine of any sort and it seems that this was the only real variable that changed. I’d also like to add that I use kegals constantly (usually without even thinking about it) during sex. I’d say every 30 seconds or so while having sex I’ll do a hard kegal to intensify my erection and have been known to do this for an hour+ without trouble. Today when I was having problems I tried to kegal and it simply wasn’t helping the situation. I felt like my kegals were extremely weak and ineffective. So from those with experience, what do you think? Should I just take it slow in incorporating kegals into my PE routine? I didn’t really think you could overdo it in terms of kegals, and I didn’t do THAT many and it was a day prior to having sex. Any feedback is welcomed.

Had similar experience. You’d think kegels would enhance things but my guess is it’s kind of like wearing a muscle out, it’s not going to work right til it rests.

And I seriously doubt the benefits of kegels at all honestly. Curling your arm with no resistance will only build your biceps up so far you know.

I agree. Too many too soon. And the point is not to build or increase the size of the bulbocavernosus, it’s just to tone it for maximum performance.

I appreciate the replies. I didn’t read any “too much too soon” stuff on here with regard to kegals so I didn’t think overdoing it was really a possibility (within reason) like it can be with squeezes, hanging, jelqing, etc.

This very thing has also happened to me. On my old routine I would do 3000 kegels per day, 6 days a week. I noticed weaker and less frequent erections and panicked, but I now know it was due to fatigue, probably a little from jelqing, but mostly from doing too many kegels. I have decided to take a PE break for a month or so, and plan to start up again Jan. 12. This rest period will give my penis and especially my BC muscle time to totally recover, and when I start I will start super soft and gradually build up. I plan to start with 10 kegels a day mon. - fri. the first week and each week add 10 more kegels, so in 10 weeks I will be doing 100 kegels a day, 5 days a week. I don’t plan on exceeding 100 a day, because I am scared to fatigue the muscle. Can you guys tell me wht you think of this, Is it too much too fast or is it too little too slow, or just right.

I just say give the muscle a break then start slowly on it.

Immortality: Your BC muscle is really a muscle. It needs rest to recover. Especially if you are new to exercising it. Now you know it. Another thing that kills erections for me is girth sessions.

Let’s say, theoretically, that one could build or increase the size of his bulbocernosus. What kind of effects would the increase in size have?

Kegels have been just a side thing to my routine and I forget to do them most of the time. Weird thing is that my best PE sessions are usually days where I did no kegels the day before. I don’t really have a problem lasting, so I think I’ll just stick to a no kegel routine myself and this thread was just another thing that helped with the conclusion. They are a good aid for a few exercises though, which is where I will still keep on doing them, but I will just put one voice on the side of saying that kegels aren’t worth the time involved. Just an opinion, not factual since I don’t have enough experience to state fact or fiction on this.

To do this would require some kind of resistance. Some guys talk about hanging a wet cloth over their erection to use as a weight for this purpose. The bulbocavernosus (BC) muscle has three things to do: 1) eject ejaculate during orgasm, 2) increase pressure in the corpus spongiosum (CS) and glans at the time of “maximum” erection, and 3) to clear urine or semen from the last few inches of the urethra.

Having bigger or stronger BC muscles (there are actually two, one on each side, woven together in a “herringbone” pattern and surrounding the bulb of the penis at the end of the CS) would make each of these three things occur more forcefully. Yep you just did to much to fast, keep it up because it’s a great exercise just don’t so many so soon unless your not getting any.

I agree westla. I would guess I do about 100-200 BC exercises each day and it seems to be enough. However, for me, a good new years resolution could be doing 100 more BC exercises each day. :) If I were to start my BC sessions over again I would start with 100 each day and increase to 150, then 200 and so on.

Thanks for the topic guys! LOL. I think i’ll now increase to about 250 BC flexes each day.

Exactly. Kegels increase PC strength, not deplete it. Your PC was just too fatigued, that’s all. I know that PE & kegels have made my unit rock-hard, and I can stay that way for a long time now.
Just back off on all the reps, for now. And don’t plan a kegel session too close to pussy time.
