ive been streching since day 1 …i grab below the head and pull up, out, and down, but just the other day i saw someone actually grabbing the head, i tried it and it caused more discomfort in my head than in my ligs and shaft…is that impropper?

It seems best to grip behind the head (maybe using an overhand OK, maybe using padding). You can use less pressure if you do it this way and there’s less chance of your grip failing.

I think you’ve answered your own question with the discomfort felt :)
