I’m wondering how the kitty is doing? (no not that one-the forum account)
With all of the server upgrades and new features that you’ve put in place do we have enough to cover expenses?
I for one have been a little lax in donating-so hang on here comes my contribution.
For all of you that read this post , let me encourage you to help keep the vision going!!!!!
This forum is an invaluable source of information that we all glean from.

Totally agree. This site might be free to it’s members, but we should all remember that there are outside forces that must get paid and don’t work for free like the utility people, phone you get the idea. We need to support
those that support us.

Even free public radio needs money to continue to operate.

The kitty is starting to gnaw a little close to the bone and could use a little help.

In the very near future, if we keep growing like we have been, we are going to have to move to a dedicated server. This is probably going to put us into the 200.00 US per month area, possibly 250.00 per month. It will allow us to continue to grow and should show some improvement in speed, especially for the guys on dial up connections. We DO need to make this move sometime in the near future. If we don’t, the option will be to close the board down to new members and start restricting content access. We don’t want to do that.

We also have renewal fees, that will hit at the end of July, that we need to cover.

With the Paypal Donate link at the bottom of the page it only takes a few seconds to send Thunder a few bucks.

I think mem has the “subscribe” function installed now. This allows an auto-donation on a set time period and can be for as little as 1.00 at a time. If anyone chooses to use this, let me know how it works out.

Ok, so how can I donate if I’m in the UK? I have switch only. And how much do people generally donate? I’m only a student so can’t afford much, but I will feel terrible if I don’t donate.

How much in $ do you reckon? I know it’s a terrible question, but what would make a little difference?

Do you have a Paypal or Yahoo DirectPay account?

A 5.00 donation is just great. If a lot of guys donate a small amount instead of a few guys donating large amounts, we get the same amount of money and no one has the large donation missing out of their wallet. Fuck, if we could get a 1.00 a month from the 500 or so guys that log in almost everyday, we could have a killer machine, even .50 a month from every one would be great.

$5? I was expecting that most people would be donating $50 or more. I can get a paypal account I think, not sure if they take my card. If so, I’ll get straight on to it.

How soon do you receive the payment from Pay Pal?

It is almost immediate, within minutes at most. That is if the contributor has everything squared away with his account. The contributor gets an email saying the funds have been sent and I get an email at the same time telling me about the donation.

Also, it helps me out a lot if the contributor adds a message telling me his username on the forum.

I am a student also but the problem is that i dont have a credit card and i live in australia, can i make a money order out or something like that?

I would like to help out if i could.

Paypal recently started using my card as well as visa etc. so that’s my donation in! It won’t be my last. I’m not a spendthrift or excessively generous person (I am where it counts) but I’d really like to help.

If I can make that donation a few more times then it should be able to make a difference.
