Sometimes I’m an obsessive measurer, I often messure pre and post PE session to see what I have done in that session. Often I’m 1/4” to a 1/2” above normal girth at the midshaft, sometimes if I’ve done my full stretching routine before jelqing I don’t get as much expansion at the midshaft. I think if I stretch prior to jelqing I have stretched out the tissue lengthwise and the girth expansion happends all along the shaft instead of pushing out more from the middle.

With length it’s fairly easy to measure gains as you are only meassuring across two points, the base to the tip. With girth however, you have all those points along every inch of your length, so if you only measure the midshaft consistantly you aren’t nessassarily getting a full idea of what you’ve been gaining. I say this for those that think they are not gaining and feel dissapointed, as I’m not always making gains where I meassure consistanly, I find that my over all girth IS increasing. When looking down from the top I used to have more of a dolphin like shape, thicker in the middle. However I’ve notice that this is not so much the case anymore and my thickness all along the shaft is becoming closer to the same girth.

I changed the way I was meassuring length, which actually caused some disappointment, I didn’t feel like I was gaining. I used to put the ruler right to the base and push in but this was making me appear bigger as my ligaments were pulled lower. But I actually was gaining because now I measure the same as my old method by putting the ruler at the farthest out reaching part of the pubic bone.(I don’t know why I let myself feel like I wasn’t gaining when I had changed meassuring styles.) and if I measure my old way I have gotten quite a bit closer to 7.5”, therefore I had been gaining all along. The reason I started meassuring differently was that I wanted to be meassuring to know exactly where I’m at and not just in a way that makes me seem bigger, so that’s why I started meassuring this way. But it feels better to know that I have been gaining all this time.

I have hung in there with my bone pressed tape measured erection at 90 degrees since I started. If I switch to ruler or some other angle, I won’t really know how much, or if, I’m gaining. For me, it’s very important to be consistent and not to change methods in mid-stream!! Especially since I lost some of my initial gains. For example, my pelvic bone is between a half inch and an inch above the very base of my penis. So where do I start? At the base, or at the pelvic bone? I could cheat (myself) and start at the pelvic bone, but I prefer to measure from the base of my penis.

Girth works the same way for me. I measured my base girth, (which started at 6”), and then when I read here that I should have measured my mid-girth for the purpose of posting my stats, it complicated things for me. I know when I increase base girth I am also increasing mid-shaft and glans girth. This has been my experience.

Yeah, I guess really your penis is as long as it is from the base, not the pubic bone. I just read somewhere, I think Hobby posted it, that as your ligs stretch you would be meassuring larger than you should. Maybe because when your having sex you can only go as deep as your pubic bone.(unless you use special positions.)

But if I stick to measuring from the pubic bone from now on I can keep a tally on my new gains, and then I can measure from the base to see where I came from earlier.

I’ve also noticed that if my girth isn’t as much as last measured then my length is longer, and vica versa. So I think based on how your doing your PE that day you can pull it out more lengthwise or thicken it out girthwise.

As of late, this has been my experience as well, that is, longer BPEL, less girth, and visaversa. This, however, was not the case when I first cut back—my girth and length were both increasing proportionately. However, this is now ancient history.

I really try to stay away from the ruler, but it’s not always easy. I always tell myself that I’m only going to measure once a month, but then I’ll get a real good woody, and I end up measuring for 15 minutes. The slightest difference in angle can mean a quarter inch either way.

For girth measurements, I do have a cloth tape measure. Most times, I use a toilet paper roll. I keep one at my desk and then use one in the bathroom after jelqing. Funny thing happened last week though. Usually, after my PE session, if there’s an empty roll in the bathroom, I’ll just do a quick measurement. Recently, I haven’t been able to get the roll over my dick, so I’m thinking, great, I am gaining. But then if I use the roll I keep at my desk later in the day, I can get it over fairly easily. Now I thinking that the gains I see after my PE sessions are just temporary. As it turns out, the one roll I have at my desk is 5.5 inches around, and the ones I’ve used in the bathroom have all been 5.

I realize I’m gaining not only through real measurements — ruler, tape measure, toilet paper roll — but also throughout the day, like when I’m driving or sitting down, and I have to shift my body a different way. Or even walking, and I have to now adjust the old package.

Post Session Gains, or PSGs as they had been desided to be called are temporary gains after your PE session, when your unit has been nicely stretched out. But they are a good sign I believe of future gains, because you know you have expanded your girth etc beyond it’s normal state. (Therefore you’re doing something right.)

Another thing I thought I’d bring up… has anyone ever made a gain in one dimension (IE Girth), and had that gain for a few weeks, then find it suddenly gone one day but all of a sudden you have more of the other dimension.(length in this case) I can’t really complain because a gain is a gain, but I was really getting used to those girth gains, I was so close to that 5.5” girth and now I’m back to 5.25” with some more length which is still cool I guess…. they do say you generally want to gain length first anyways, but it just blows my mind how my penis can just morph over night, just like all the gains I’ve made were sudden over night jumps.

Yeah, now I’m wondering if the last time I thought I lost 1/4” of girth gains, if it had actually transfered to a length gain like has just happend recently. It’s just weird how the last 2 times I came close to hitting 5.5 midshaft girth I kept it for a few weeks and thought it was mine to keep and then bam it’s gone overnight. At least this time I know I got something out of it and I’ve gained length, I checked my BPFSL today and I finally hit 8 inches! Yay!

On the down side, I busted as blood vessel during my jelq session today, it didn’t/doesn’t hurt and I didn’t notice it right away, when I looked down on the bottom of my shaft there’s this purple lump, that then turned into a bruise it looks like. The bruise is now fairly small, smaller than a dime, and kind of faded looking, do you guys think it’s still safe to keep up the PE?

Just be careful, pal, with those injuries. Maybe you should avoid that bruised area where the blood vessel burst.

With my whacky version of the Lazy Ass Stretch, I have just had a serious injury (shooting pains in those sensitive nerves for two days running). That’s old willy warning me to take it easy.

I’m backing off the Lazy Asses, maybe the A stretches as well, laying off for a few days. I’ve decided to go back to the basics: the good old jelq. My goal is much less ambitious now: just keep what I originally gained.

The bruise is only on the skin, when I jelq I do it dry-style so I’m pulling the skin with my hand as I jelq. My hand doesn’t touch the bruised part as it moves up near the glands when I reach the end of the stroke. I think it should be ok to keep PEing, but I’d just like reasurance from anyone whose experienced something like this.

Pushing the ruler right into the base must really hurt. Pubic bone measure is probably the best and gives you your real “working” length. I think the most important thing is to be consistent given rather small monthly average gains (if one can grow 2” in a month, than measuring technique doesn’t really matter), same angle, same ruler/tape, same spot on the pubic bone. Also I think ruler is much more reliable because tape can stretch.

And when you measure from the pubic bone and stretch it to 8 inches it feels even better, that you know you were being stingey on yourself and still measured a good number to see! Although… now I’m curious what I’d measure the other way….
