Older Guys Need More Days Off?

It took longer to heal from a cut, bruise, etc, when I was 30 vs 20, 40 vs 30 etc. Given my age (50) and the intensity of girth/clamping workouts I was thinking every other day in lieu of 2 on 1 off or a 5/2 pattern.

Any feedback, especially from older guys?

I doubt that, when you see red spots in the morning from PE yesterday you need to take a day off, when you see no red spots, just PE.

I’m older than that :-) I follow the 5/2 pattern, more or less. I believe it’s best to maintain regular tension. I’m sure there’s some cut-off point of time and intensity vs. gains, e.g., at one extreme, if you only PE’d once a week, I doubt you’d see any progress, and I’m sure 7 days straight is too much. I’ve slowly increased the amount of time spent, and the intensity, over the initial few months, and have learned to watch for signs of pain and ‘fatigue’. I’ve also added some variety, in terms of routine and technique (e.g., just started clamping). So far, so good. No red spots, no ‘doughnut’, etc., but definite increases. So, I guess my basic recommendation is to be sensitive to the organ in question and watch for the standard indicators (summarised very nicely somewhere in this forum, can’t remember where). Was your question based on some actual problem, or is it ‘theoretical’?

I’m 48, and I too follow the 5/2 (shouldn’t that be 5/7?) pattern, as I find it suits the pattern of my life wrt weekdays and weekends - besides, I think it’s important psychologically to have some ‘time off’ and the weekend seems ideal.

The real key is to be sensitive to changes. Provided you don’t do any damage, I personally don’t think you can do ‘too much’ PE (as in, too many consecutive days). Keeping just below the red-spot/bruising ‘threshold’ strikes me as the sweet spot with regard to repetition frequency.

I usuall do some sort of PE’ing, stretching, jelqing, hanging, pumping etc … . . Each day. But I only do them very strict, strenuously a couple days a week, and with a very hectic schedule, I do have at least 2 days off. But an extra workout will not hurt you either; cause, you may not have the time to PE for 3, 4 , 5 days at times, because of your schedule.

But if you want a regular schedule; PE for 3 on 2 off etc … . . I feel that after 3 days of PEing, my cock is very sore and worn out … . . You have to get the feeling about this. If you feel good, continue with the work out, but you will get to the time where you have to take the time off for other reasons, and you will not feel guilty about taking the time off.

But , pull on it every day and jelq alittle while shitting, pissing etc … … Every littl bit helps !

plustwo, to answer your question, I have no problem. I would just like to maximize my growth potential this time around. My inclination is to jelq every other day for 30 minutes and every other day for 20 minutes but gradually adding clamping sessions, working my way up to 3 x 15 minute sessions, ala Aristocane.

Today I jelqed for 20 minutes and did two, 5-7 minute clamp sessions.

I do at least a one hour session a day, with a second 12 hours later, if I can. The first one will be ‘strenuous’, the second mostly stretch/jelq. Lots of heat at all times, i.e., I hit the shower for 5 min. every 15 min. (which also provides a brief rest/recovery period) and wrap a heating pad around the pump tube. Stretch & jelq are the mainstays, with pumping, clamping, weights (light PEWeights — highly recommended) and a stretcher (PeniMaster) thrown into the mix as the mood takes me :-) If I ever feel overworked, I skip a session. However, that hasn’t happened since my initial break-in period, i.e., the first two months.

I’m happy with my gains so far. (My wrists are much thicker now :-)

(Also trying all-day heating now, with a wrap, as mentioned in another thread.)
