Hey ThunderSS and all the other moderators… do you have anything against people whose native language is not English?! Is the rest of the world supposed to speak your blessed language as well as american people?

The “spell check” does not correct bad English, maybe some errors, but not the sentence itself, if you know what I mean.

I find it pathetic that you moderators are always complaining about the spelling and the way people write their posts. That’s pure discrimination, sometimes.

I think it is a good thing that we try to have a standard of good English here at Thunders. One reason is specifically so that non English natives have an easier time with it. I have recently been browsing some bodybuilding forums, and some them seriously look like conversations between 14 year old retarded people. Coming back here, it is an obviously classier atmosphere.

I know for a fact that moderators try to be understanding of people who are not native speakers.

Thunders corrction of ‘i’ has nothing to do with being from another country. It is just laziness. Since it is Thunders forum, don’t you think he has the right to set the standards?

Also keep in mind that not all moderators are the same. Some are more nitpicky than others. If you have a specific complaint about a moderators actions, you should address it with him or her directly, rather than stereotyping us all as being unreasonable.

I think the constant harassing at people who are not using proper English is a great idea. It sort of changes the mood of the forum to a more mature atmosphere, which I think is a good thing as PE is something that needs to be taken seriously or else one may hurt themselves. Spelling for the most part is fine to be hassled for, as the spell check takes care of it. However, everyone has a word slip by now and then, and that is understandable and they don’t get into trouble for it. I also find it funny that you think the standardization of this forum regarding English, is somehow discriminating against those of other languages. It’s quite ironic as the standardization of it is the very tool that allows for the forum to be as “user friendly” as possible for those of other languages. Imagine how hard it would be to read posts not in your tongue, if people constantly used new slang or spelled words differently. I have yet to see someone on this forum beat someone to death over improper sentence structure, as it is usually quite obvious when someone is trying their best to speak as proper as they can.

If you have the time, check out some of the previous posts of the guys that get called out. I tend to pick on the people that get lazy and cut the guys that I know to be dealing with a second language some slack.

BTW, the door swings both ways. No one is forcing you to stay here.

I can see from your message that your native language is English. But do you really think foreigners will write a post like yours?

I mean, I understand that people from countries where English is the native language should make an effort to write without errors, but what about foreigners? Moderators should be more patient with them. I don’t know many people that have the knowledge to write solid posts in a forum like this… and trust me, there are other countries in Europe where English is less spoken than here.

All the more reason to try to get people to post as well as they can, don’t you think?

I’ve seen messages from moderators (concerning this subject) that were simply pathetic. Trust me, I quoted you in that previous message, but I wasn’t even refering to you in particular.

By the way, I gave my opinion in a polite way… insulting my intelligence and offering me the exit of this forum is a childish behaviour from you.
