Penis Size: The True Average

Condomania has a brand called They Fit, similar concept to the company you linked. You download a kit, measure your dick, and they sell condoms to order by length and girth. About a year ago they put out a press release about condom sizes they sell. They think their database comes close to the true average than older studies for a few reasons. Its self measured which tends toward exaggeration, but since these measurements are to get condoms that fit, padding your results defeats the purpose behind getting the condoms in the first place. Also, they have more samples - 27,000 measurements compared to Kinsey with 2500.

Personally I have a few problems with their data being totally valid. First, selection bias - they are selling custom fit condoms, which I suspect will attract more men who are significantly outside the average range. If normal condoms fit fine, why bother? I wonder too about how they collected those 27,000 database entries. I don’t know if they can be sure that they are all unique individuals, or if they have some people duplicated, say if they forgot their info, moved, got a new credit card, etc. Then there is the fact that they know what size condoms men are buying, they can’t account for preference. I like a condom that fits tighter, some guys like them looser. That could explain why the talk more about length than width though.

So, with a grain of salt, the things their numbers say that are of most interest here:

- Penises Come in a Wide Range of Sizes: The Smallest Penises are Less Than 3” in Length and the Largest Penises are Longer Than 10” in Length
- Penis Sizes Chart Almost a Perfect Bell Curve: 25% of the Male Population is Under 5” in Length, 50% are Between 5” and 6” in Length and 25% are Longer than 6” in Length

It still blows my mind that if North Miami is right, 75% of cocks are NOT greater than 6” in length.

Yah, but given that they’re a condom company their data is only measured to where the condom ends. For me that’s almost an inch below my NBPEL, you know.

If you wear regular condoms, sure it ends where it ends. If you order custom sized condoms, why would you order them short? That’s the problem with their data. It makes sense that most guys would measure accurately since the goal is a condom that fits. But there’s no way to be sure if that’s reliable or not.

Their numbers are on what size condoms people have ordered. That gives us a good idea what size dick they have, but it’s not scientific at all.

Fair enough, but is it any less scientific than asking for volunteers to take part in a size survey, given that bigger guys are naturally going to be keener to show off than smaller guys? It would be very silly for a guy to enter an exaggerated measurement and end up with condoms that slipped because they were too big for him.

I dunno about 75% of all penises being under 6” but the vast majority of surveys I’ve read about have put the mean BP length at under 6” rather than above it.

My aunt is korean and was a doctor there for about 20 years. She said that all the guys she was with or saw were signifigantly smaller that any american she has seen. She actually made the commit that it is very rare for a korean man to have anything over 4 inches. She never witnessed one that was. Good thing all my cousins were girls.

Uh, how often did she see them erect? Is this a regular part of Korean medical checkups, I wonder?

In her career she said most were not erect. But she rarely seen one over one inch flaccid. And she said she slept with about 12 Korean guys in her life and she said they were alot smaller than her husband and her husband is a member on another PE site and he measures 5.5 BP and 5 meg. She made the statement that most were around 3 inches erect

Condomania made only vague mention of girth statistics despite having an equal number of measurements on file versus length. I would be curious to see those results. The best I could do was to download their measurement tool PDF to get a sense of the range in their sizing chart. The lowest mark on the girth tool is about 3.25” or 8.25cm while the highest mark is about 5.625” or 14.25cm. The chart of available length/girth combinations suggests a rather consistent proportional growth correlation between the two measurements is most common. It is not clear if there is any allowance for a stretch factor.

I was surprised by how much of the girth range is low by general opinion around here, how low the smallest measure is and also that the high end of the table cuts off at 5.625”. Either they have specifically chosen to ignore a larger-sized market or that market is not statistically significant enough to be financially viable even for a custom-order service. The girth figures should be pretty accurate according to standard measuring practices at Thunder’s, unlike the the length measurements which are, at longest, an NBP figure, but the fully-unrolled point is a personal choice and not necessarily consistent or to the NBP point.

What would be really interesting is to see where various mass-market condoms from major brands fall within the Condomania chart for comparison.
