Penis Size: The True Average

Crap :( In the great server crash of 2012, I guess we lost all the excellent new studies, especially Asian studies, that that one member located — I forget what his name was. I hope he has them saved somewhere and can repost to this thread — I’ll be happy to put in the time to re-edit the first page of this thread, again, to include all those studies!

Nbpl I am only about 5.8 or 5.9 erect tops but bp I am 6.5. Am I average?

Seems that way, doesn’t it? You just have to have faith in the figures. In nearly all porn, professional or amateur, it’s naturally the guys with a lot to show off who are more likely to show it off. It’s like earning a respectable, even above-average salary, but feeling like you’re a pauper because you’re in a bar overhearing some flash City boys bragging about their bonuses. You have to remember that they’re not representative of the typical person.

Seems fairly correct.. I have a blog that I have been moderating for a couple years now , that is mostly all erect measurements submitted by the the poster.
I think the last time I did a count the most posts were in the 5 to 6 inch range.

Puts paid to the idea that only the bigger guys post pics.

Found a British study. 609 Participants aged 16-90 measured at urology exams and surgeries over 20 months. Average (gentle) BPFSL 14.3 cm. It also cited several other studies which record average BPFSL in a graphic. Some of these other studies might be worth tracking down. I tried pasting an xl to text conversion in here, but the board doesn’t seem to handle the formatting very well. The graphic is on page 741 of the link.

I think it’s almost impossible to figure out what the true average is, as much as we would all like to know. For me the most important thing to do is to just keep trying to make my own unit bigger and strive to be bigger than the next guy.

Since I was replying to another thread and found some information on this, here’s a few more studies and analysis.. These more specifically relate to girth (as they are mostly looking at best condom fit), but the studies mentioned do include length.. The Condom Size PDF in particular has a lot of good data and analysis from *many* global sources and includes a fantastic listing of references and other studies at the end.

Long story short — it seems the average girth is around 4.8, and average length is around 5.8" bone pressed in non self-measured/self-reported studies.

Seems to be pretty close to all the other major studies Goomba has posted up involving erections (ie, not flacid stretched) measured by a 3rd party.

Nice work. Are we getting close to being to say that the definitive average size is a little under 6” long by a little under 5” in girth? Study after study after study is coming up with numbers in this ballpark.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES:
• To establish a reference range for adult male genital size in the UK using penile length measurements. • To compare the reference ranges for normal penile length reported from several different countries and the anthropometric differences noted between different nationalities and ethnic backgrounds.
METHODS AND MATERIALS:
• Over 20 months, genital measurements were taken from all men undergoing routine examination in clinics (n= 499) and in operating theatres during examination under anaesthetic (n= 110). • Using a rigid metric ruler three penile measurements were taken: flaccid pendulous penile length, flaccid penopubic penile length (to the pubic arch) and stretched flaccid penopubic length. In addition, testicular size was measured using an orchidometer. • The patient’s age and the reason for referral were recorded. • Statistical analysis was carried out using Pearson correlation analysis.
RESULTS:
• Measurements from 610 patients aged 16-90 years were available for analysis. • The mean penile lengths were: pendulous length 8.7 cm (sd 1.6 cm), penopubic length 10.2 cm (sd 1.4 cm) and stretched length 14.3 cm (sd 1.7 cm). The mean testicular volume was 19.8 mL (sd 5.4 mL) for both left and right testicles. • Men with penile disease (including phimosis and Peyronie’s disease) had slightly reduced penile length (pendulous -3.3 mm, P= 0.014; penopubic -2.3 mm, P= 0.029; stretched -5.1 mm, P < 0.001) compared with other referral groups (erectile dysfunction, testicular disease, prostate and bladder disease). • There was no significant correlation between penile length and age or testicular size.
