Protein, Protein... PROTEIN

Yeah man, Listen to UberGoober I would suggest. 50g of protein is a lot. If you are serious about your protein intake, lower it to a MAX of 40g and have that twice a day, with water. Not milk. Opposed to 50g in one session. After a session at the gym, it is only recommended that one takes in 40g for an average metabolism. Otherwise your body won’t break all of it down and your farts turn from that putrid stench that put your dog to shame, to a gas that will melt through metal. But, sweet idea.

OT…why with water and not with milk?

So, I should immediately gobble down a protein drink after stretching my calves if I want increased flexibility?

No.

Now a warped version of the “you can’t absorb more than 30g of protein at a time” bodybuilding myth is creeping into the mix here. Ugh…

Forget all this crap. Do your PE routine and eat or don’t eat whatever you like. PE isn’t bodybuilding. If you want to get technical, do a search here on vitamin C and discussions about nutrition and calorie balance while hanging. It’s possible that poor nutrition, bordering on or even into vitamin deficiency, may produce better results than superb nutrition. Don’t leap into this field out of the blue pretending to know what is best.

The bottom line is we still don’t know how diet affects PE.

The drawback of the protein shake plan is, you will stack on weight and double your fat pad in no time. Those shakes are designed for people burning calories with weight workouts; and even then, they are excessive when used as instructed because they are sufficient for huge men. I have found I can keep gaining weight and lean muscle using about 1/4 of the prescribed amount of powder in a shake, while working out 4 or more times a week. The shake supplements are sufficient for a 200 - 300 pound man to build muscle, but our dicks are only a few ounces.

Building and repairing tissue also require essential fats and vitamin C, and probably other things we don’t know about yet. A lot of those nutrients are in the shakes, of course.

I agree that protein is necessary, but the quantity needed to compensate for PE exercises would be very small. It would also be better to spread it over the day rather than take it in one or two big hits.

PE should, in my opinion, be a health thing, like brushing our teeth and working out.

Obsessing about gains will only lead to disappointment for most people. - babbis

Hahaha, that just made my day! PETA “scientists” in action, no common sense, no references and no rhetoric.

To OP: 50g shake is way to much. You could generally increase protein intake a bit and see if it helps in recuperation after PE. As mentioned above, don’t forget your vitamin b,c and omega3, also if you are taking any NSAIDs consider putting them off.

Nope, because fats in milk slow down absorption of protein. Important for time release nutrients followers, irrelevant here.

This is crap,

I don’t know if you don’t do, but if you don’t don’t work-out and drink a lot of proteine shake’s it’s bad for your bone’s also. To process the proteine there will be some stuff extracted from you bone’s wich is not a good thing. If you want to follow threw these plans take some zinck and magnesium with it for that issue.

I, can, I can, I can not, can not compute..

But on the other hand milk increases number of calories…proteins with water have lower amount of calories..correct me if I am wrong

Yes, but principle behind post workout shake is to get massive amount of protein to muscles, as fast as possible. So PWO is whey+dextrose (to create insulin spike) in water, little gimmicky if you ask me -unless your diet lacks in protein or you are restricting calories(“cutting”) ;)

Protein may be useful for a bodybuilder who intends gain muscle mass, let’s say 30 pounds. Obviously, he will need a lot of (extra) protein.

If you increase the weight of your dick by 2 grams in the next weeks you are a good gainer, but not much of that will be muscle. The little bit of protein you need to grow your dick is contained in the bloodstream.

Forget about it.

Does Too Much Protein In The Diet Increase Cancer Risk? — ScienceDaily

I just posted the first site I found, I didn’t scan to see if it was PETA.

Going for 6 inches of girth, wish me luck.

Now preliminary findings from researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis suggest that eating less protein may help protect against certain cancers that are not directly associated with obesity.

You trust every single thing big great scientists come up with, I’ll wait and trust common sense in meantime.

Did I say, “100% excess protein will cause cancer!” No, I said it MAY cause cancer. Before you go on with your righteous proclamations you might want to read my post as thoroughly as you obviously scanned the article.

And to argue with your “common sense,” wouldn’t it make sense that we eat protein in the amounts that we’ve evolved to eat it? It seems to me that inundating our body with protein doesn’t seem healthy at all, but I guess I’m not using my “common sense.” Actually, it doesn’t matter what I think, I’m just gonna “trust every single thing big great(!) scientists come up with.”

Sigh…

Everything causes cancer, don’t you know?
Sun, exhaust fumes, plastics, pesticides and don’t forget vitamin a. Our best bet is to wear tin foil cap and stay in bomb shelters, wait, check them for asbestos. Thanks to never wrong, always vigilant.
Rant end.

Fine, You are right. Some research states less protein helps in prevention of some sorts of cancer. Slight difference but there is.

And what is that evolved ratio? Did god whispered to prehistoric man “thou eat to much fish, find a banana” when they ate to much protein?
Homo are omnivores, and can thrive of anything.
