Don’t get me wrong…I love protein. My personal ideal eating is high fat, high protein, mostly veggy carbs; I thrive on it, but I love beer too much! I believe individual differences exist so there is no one hard and fast set of rules.
My bigger point was that it is EXTREMELY unlikely that PE is going to cause the kind of systematic damage that would necessitate an influx of nutrition and calories immediately afterwards. Rather, focus on eating well ALL of the time.
