Yep, we just have way to much knowledge for anyone to be a true Renaissance man anymore. Simply mastering what I would consider basic life skills (cooking, computer, firstaid, basic mechanics, communication, financial and a host of other things) takes a lot of time and dedication, and many people never learn them. Now, to try being a chef, an MD, a web god, etc, i.e. MASTERING all of what our current knowledge pool has to offer… well, good luck.

I wonder how many things we do that are *not* motivated by society? Can anyone honestly say that their desire to PE isn't motivated by society?
My desire to get a bigger one has much less to do with society, than most guys. I am very abby-normal when it comes to peer pressure and conforming to societal pressures; also, I never suffered from dick size anxiety. Any time we have a poll or discussion about why we are doing PE, I am a “f*ch what anyone else thinks I just want a bigger unit for me” kinda guy. But I sure as hell can’t say that society has nothing to do with it. Even the worst misanthrope or psychopath is, to some extent, a social creature. And as others have written, we are all well aware that our fellow men fell on a very visceral level that monstercock = alpha male.
