Training Until Gains Stop?

I’ve been reading about diminishing returns in training and not changing things if the routine is working. My question is, when you stop gaining, do you make small changes until you do. Or do you make big changes?

For example, Bob has been pumping for 20min 3 days a week and gained. He stopped gaining and decide to add 10min each workout day. That’s adding 50% of his workout volume as opposed to adding 5 min a day and adding 25% volume. If he can gain with both, should he add 5 minutes before going straight to 10? Would such a thing matter or are smaller changes better due to diminishing returns?

I keep going until gains stop. I am currently not doing active PE. I made it to my goal and have been debating if I want to put in the time to add some extra length. Just not motivated. Things that happen I guess when you make it to 8 inches.

As far as what to change I suggest you consider the variables. I used to hang so to me the variables are time, weight, and angle. I guess one could consider rest between long periods of PE as well since they do seem to help. The answer is in within the variables. I suggest you donĀ“t burden yourself with the “what if” until you get to the point of no gains.

Small changes are most likely better. When they stop working, decon and switch exercises.


Then again, I'm a virgin so anything I say might be completely incorrect.
