What kind of ruler do you use?

I’ve been measuring with a tape measurer for length and girth, today I felt like it would be nice to buy a proper solid ruler for a change to measure.

The problem is every ruler I saw began around 0.2 inches from the true start, so basically when you measure you would be 0.2 inches less than you are, so you would have to add that 0.2 inches to the final measurement.

Has anyone got a ruler that doesn’t start at 0.2 inches in? I wonder if some people are not realizing they are actually 0.2 inches longer than they think :D

Lol, I was using a tape measuring thing, thought I was 6 and half, got a real wood ruler, found out I was 7 1/4” bone pressed 7 1/2”. Also, not sure if you are overthinking it with the ruler thing, I think it’s right the way they made it.

Haha interesting, yeah it’s not so easy to bone press with a tape measure.

So do you add around 0.2 to your final measurement? Is there an empty space before the ruler cm/inches start on your ruler?

I use a fabric tape measure, but yeah can be harder to get bone pressed measurement…maybe I should try a ruler ruler too.

Hard wooden for length, tape measure for girth. I just used a knife to cut off the extra space on ruler

A ruler has a space between the beginning and zero, but a rule starts right at zero. You might not be able to get a rule at an office supply store, but a craft store should have them.
