Whats the deal with pumps.

I will keep this short. Whats the deal with pumps. I read that pump can increase you length, but I initially thought that pumps were for Girth. I gain girth easily and want to focus on length for now, but I’m considering buying a pump to assist me with me gains and get my EQ back up. EQ took some hits because I’ve been working it heavily and gained a lot recently. I will appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Pumps are primarily used for girth though some have gained length.

Pumps also are good for improving EQ, especially dynamic/pulse pumping. Avocet8 developed a great pumping routine to help with ED.

Thank you. Guess I should hold off and that for a while then. But think I might have gone passed the 8 inch barrier, but don’t want to do too much girth work just yet.

Well I got my pump.

It was a bit different than I thought. I thought my penis was well conditioned to take almost anything, but a pump is a whole new ball game. Will keep you updated on gains. Guess I have to work a bit harder on my stretches as well. When I pump my penis tends to lean a bit to the left and I thought I worked that out of it a while back already as it didn’t do it when I got erect naturally any more. Interesting.

If you find a way to get rid of the lefty, please let me know :)

I believe the trick is that if you want length gains with a pump, you use a smaller diameter cylinder. If you’re after girth gains, you use a bigger diameter one.

But if you have questions about pumps, you should look in the pumping forum; you’ll get more information over there.

What’s the smallest diameter cylinder you can get? How will this ensure that you will only gain length, and not girth? I’m looking for someone to explain the theory how smaller diameter cylinder pumps would increase length without gaining girth, and is this just as safe as using a normal sized pump?

Also, what would happen if you used a cylinder size much less than your erect girth? Is this safe? How do you select the correct cylinder size, if you only want to gain length but no girth?

If you get a cylinder that is too small, you even be able to fit into it, so that would be a total waste of money. There is a theory that once you pack your cylinder, there is no longer any room for girth expansion so all of the vacuum force is directed to the length direction. The only problem is, that also focuses all of the vacuum on the head and that can cause head blisters and they are a real bitch.

The best thing to do is buy the correct cylinder for your erect dimensions. Use our sizing chart to figure out your cylinder size:

Selecting Your Cylinder Size

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Selecting Your Cylinder Size

Base Girth Cylinder Diameter
3.50 to 4.50* 1.50
4.75 to 5.25* 1.75
5.50 to 6.00* 2.00
6.25 to 6.75* 2.25
7.00 to 7.50* 2.50
7.75 to 8.25* 2.75

Let’s say I am 5.50 girth, so you would recommend getting a 2.00 Cylinder Diameter right? But what if I want to gain ZERO girth (not even 1mm), would it still be okay for me to use a 1.75 Cylinder Diameter? Would I fit? Would it be safe?

The problem with that scenario is that you would be packing the tube pretty much right away, and then you have the situation where all of the pressure it focused on the head and head blisters are a risk.

Pumping is really not suited for a length only device. Pumping primarily benefits girth first and length second.

But if all the pressure is on the head, that means the penis is going up lengthwise. If the pressure is too much on the head, I can lower the pressure on the gauge. Would that be a good strategy to gain length only?

Like I said, getting blisters is the risk. If you think you can manage that, go for it. But I repeat, pumping is not primarily for gaining length.

But if I decrease the pressure on the gauge, I would automatically be reducing the pressure on the glans. Am I correct?

Yes, of course.
