Selecting Your Cylinder Size

Selecting Your Cylinder Size

Selecting the proper cylinder size is important for making your pumping sessions both comfortable and rewarding. Your cylinder should be large enough to allow for significant expansion, but not so large as to make it easy for your testicles to be drawn into the cylinder by the vacuum.

When selecting length, choose a cylinder that is between 1 and 2 inches longer then your bone pressed erect length.

For selecting diameter, use the table below using your erect girth near the base. Usually the largest erect girth measurement is near the base but if your largest girth is midshaft or your glans girth, use the larger measurement to pick your cylinder diameter.

Base GirthCylinder Diameter
3.50 to 4.50*1.50
4.75 to 5.25*1.75
5.50 to 6.00*2.00
6.25 to 6.75*2.25
7.00 to 7.50*2.50
7.75 to 8.25*2.75

* If you are at the upper limit and are going for length, select the cylinder diameter straight across in the table. If you are at the upper limit and are going for girth, select the next cylinder size up. Example: Your base girth measures 5.25. If your goal is length, select the 1.75 cylinder. If your goal is girth, select the 2.0 cylinder.

That’s a real good addition, gprent. We all thank you.

Thanks gprent. That pretty well confirms what I’ve learned by trial and error, ( and from pestering the vets!)

Thank you GPrent, after all the sizing advice you have provided to many of us all, I think it is good that a “standardised” form of advice was set up and it will be of great assistance to many more.

That was a prime reason for making this table. I have never agreed with the pump manufacturers size charts and they are all basically the same.

GPrent (or any other pumping vets), I have question for you. I am working mostly on length right now and have added pumping to my routine. I have a 1.625” Cylinder and am packing it. When I first started pumping a few months back, I put a piece of tape on the tube to mark my greatest length for reference purposes. This was before I was packing the tube. Now, since packing the tube, I am about 1/2” short of my tape. Do you think the added girth is keeping me from reaching my old length in the tube? Out of the tube I have made length gains so I haven’t shrunk, I just seem to get stuck in the tube. I do used plenty of lube. Do you think I should move to a 1.75” tube?

Your advice is most appreciated!

Where did you get a 1.625 cylinder? Is it a home made set up?

What is your base girth before you pump and what is your base girth after pumping?

I am thinking that perhaps you can pack your 1.625” cylinder and then continue your routine with even a 2.0” cylinder. It depends on your measurements. Using multiple cylinders for your routine is called staging and the only question is what size cylinder should you be staging up to, 1.75 or 2.0.

gprent,

I am not sure which size to get. My base is girth 4.3”, but at my widest point by mid shaft I am 4.6”. I would like to work on length first then girth. So would you recommend I go 1.5” or 1.75”? Thanks

Go for the 1.5” and as you are working on length, your base girth will also be filling out.

gprent,

Yes, you are correct. It’s actually an aquarium vacuum cylinder. I am 4 7/8” base so I only get about 1/4” expansion.
I think I’m slightly over 5” after pumping. If my math is correct a 1.625” Cylinder can accommodate up to 5.10”
I’m really working on length at the moment but wouldn’t mind gaining some girth in the process.

I like the idea of staging since I already have a 2” cylinder. Do you think I will get more expansion by doing this?

Thanks!!!

gprent,

Thanks for setting up this table for all the newbie pumpers with cylinder sizing questions.

Iguana,

You will definitely get more expansion by staging. That is the point. Even though the math says your 1.625 cylinder will take you up to 5.10 girth, you can actually go beyond that by “over inflating” your penis. Since you are going for length, you tend to stay in the cylinder for a while after packing it right? When you do this, blood is still trying to fill every cavity, so when you come out, you can actually expand larger than 5.1 girth. Then you should enter the 2.0 cylinder and see if that is comfortable to continue on with your session. The only way to find out how well it works for you is to give it a try.

Thanks gprent!

You have been very helpful. I will give this a shot.
