Vac versus noose pros & cons
I’m not able yet to start a thread in the extender forum but having used the regular noose attachment with the Jes Extender and then switching to the VacExtender 4 cylinder adapter this is something that interests me and I’m quite interested to hear others’ experience.
I’m obviously still a PE beginner but I have logged about about 100 hours using the regular noose attachment with the Jes Extender (the “comfort strap” didn’t work for me as there’s no effective way to tighten and just slipped out) and then converting to the VacExtender 4 cylinder and now also using that for around 6 weeks or also about 100 hours. So I feel I have enough experience to have an opinion on each. For me the noose attachment wasn’t uncomfortable but it is still absolutely night and day compared to the VacExtender which is actually comfortable. With the noose I could do a 2 hour extender session but broken into segments of no more than 45 minutes due to slippage or to restore circulation due to cold glans. Whereas with the VacExtender I can comfortably do a 2 - 3 hour session without a break and then having a break is just as much from needing to pee versus any discomfort or pain.
With the VacExtender I haven’t had any blisters (I am taping per instructions) or discoloration or fluid build up. Just a mark on the back of the clans from the cylinder rim, but I’m going to try the next size up of cylinder which I think will solve this issue. From my experience I wonder why anyone at all would recommend a noose style attachment? The experience with a vac cylinder attachment is just so much superior, and not just comfort. For my n=1 observations there seem to be other clear benefits than just comfort to using a vac extender versus noose:
1. No loss of circulation, in fact better blood flow due to vacuum slightly engorging the glans. The flaccid stretch is actually quite full versus noose attachment was really “pencil dick”.
2. Increase glans size. Not sure about this just yet, but it seems glans might have a chance to grow. Will test this out with the next size up of the cylinder when I get it.
3. Safer, less chance of injury to glans and less chance of nerve damage
4. Feel more even stretch on the “internal penis” with vac cylinder versus feeling stretch coming from primarily the noose
5. Can also use the vac cylinder for light hanging (up to about 2.5kg or 6lb doesn’t seem to be an issue)
There are disadvantages but I think these are minor
1. A little more time to set up (but this is balanced by not needing frequent breaks)
2. Due to attaching at the tip versus just below the glans need another 2.5 to 5cm (1 - 2”) of rods in the extender. This makes the extender longer, more bulky and more difficult to wear around
I have seen other people complaining about the durability of the sleeves and vac rings, with tears, needing replacement, etc. But at least so far I have no issues with this at all.
So what do other people think? Should noose style extenders be recommended at all? Do they have a place or should they be abandoned?
