Bib Hanger. Preventing cold glans...

Something I’ve noticed in my hanging session today. My third set hanging gave me a scare because my glans got somewhat cool to the touch and a bit darker than the first two sets. The one thing I did in this set that I did not do in the other two sets was tighten the back two bolts as tight as I could. I am wondering if tightening the back bolts TOO much will cause circulation problems with the corpus spongiosum. Does this seem like a logical explanation?

I’ve checked the “Bib hanger settings” threads from this forum several times, but none seem to focus on the setting of the front bolt in relation to the two back bolts. In fact, I’ve read on here that the front bolt should be tightened so the “teeth” are locked. However, I am still wondering about the back bolts.

Do you veteran Bib hangers keep the back two bolts open wider than the front bolt and has this helped in keeping good glans circulation?

Wt282,

Call me a dumb prick or what ever you like but what 2 back bolts are you referring too.

The bib hanger has the 2 long bolts on the bottom with the adj. nuts and I think bigger referrs to them as the slides and the 1 top bolt with the tighten wingnut.

Please tell me what the back bolts are you are talking about.

Thanks.

GMJ

If you look real close, there are two bolts front and two bolts back on the bottom skids plus the top tightening bolt. Looking down from the top, the bolts on the left side hold the hinge to the hanger body and are not really adjustable. The bolts on the right side are where the adjustments are made. The back bolts should be a little tighter than the front bolts giving the hanger what’s called toe out. This is exaggerated, but it should look like this \ /. So if you adjusted the back bolts tighter than the front, that’s normal. You may have just gone a little further than necessary. Might try a search on “toe out hanger”

Sorry about confusing. There are two bolts /screws (whatever you want to call them) where the hinges are. If you are looing at the hanger in action- the single wingnut side is where the “front” is and the side with the two adjustable wingnuts is the “back” side (closer to your balls). Does that help? I just figured that if you kept that back side a little more open- it would not contribute to a cold glans?

Is this \ / how the hanger looks when it’s opened up and laying on the floor? or is this how it looks when it’s tightened with weight on it?

Hmmm...

Hmmmm, that link claimed that the toe-out setting was good, but in another thread (the one that is linked from the sticky at the top of this page) claimes that the toe-in is more comfertable. While I’ve still got plenty of time to figure out which toe setting I like the best, I just want the flow of blood to my glans to be safe, so I figured that having the back two wingnuts (the ones by the hinge… the ones you configure the toe in/out settings) a little more open than the front one, is going to be better for blood flow.

I believe we’re describing the same thing but with different terminology. The traditional toe out setting is adjusted only at the bottom wingnuts to have the hanger tighten slightly more at the base of the penis instead of at the head. I think what you are looking for is the opening on top of the penis and the bottom of the penis. There you will have better blood flow having the bottom wingnuts open more than the top. Looking from the front of the hanger you should see a slight /o\ appearance keeping the pressure off the corpus spongiosum as you originally thought.

Yeah that’s it :) more pressure on the corpus cavernosa with a toe-out setting. Meaning the wingnut closest to the glans if you hang BTC is opened even more so than the the wingnut closest to your base.

Also… the bottom gap should be set wider, correct? Just like post #2 on this page.

I hope you are fully tightening both bottom wingnuts before attaching the hanger. Make whatever adjustments, fully tighten the bottom nuts, then attach using only the top bolt to tighten on your penis.

Toe in or out shouldn’t affect circulation to the glans much. The bottom gap will to some extent. When it’s wider the CS isn’t squeezed as much.

Also, the wrap plays quite a role in head circulation. If it’s too tight or not elastic enough it will cut off blood flow.

Post #2 on this page was by Gentle Mr Justin so I don’t follow you there.

I’m still not 100% sure we’re looking at the hanger from the same perspective. You should look at it and refer to it as if it was sitting with the flat skids down on a table. If you refer to it while it’s on your penis, what is front, back, etc changes depending on if you’re BTC, SO, etc.

Toe in or out settings will not have any effect on how much pressure is put on the corpus spongiosum, just on where on the corpus spongiosum it is placed.

To adjust the pressure on the corpus spongiosum vs the corpus cavernosa, you would then adjust the bottom (two wing-nuts) and top gap (single wing-nut). If you loosen both bottom wing-nuts, you will have to tighten the top wing-nut to keep the hanger on, effectively lessening the pressure on the corpus spongiosum keeping blood flow to your glans as open as possible. Of course, you don’t want too much pressure on the top either because of the nerves. It’s a delicate balance that takes a bit of time to get comfortable.

> If you loosen both bottom wing-nuts…

Just to clarify, the inner nuts are what needs adjusting to change toe or bottom gap. Loosen the wingnuts, spin the adjusting nuts in or out as needed, then fully tighten both bottom wingnuts. Link
