My absolute inability to gain with manual stretches is a big part of my reconsidering hanging again, yes.

I haven’t started hanging yet, but I think I will once I’ve exhausted every possible manual stretch with no gain for 6 weeks.

I’ve actually started doing manual stretching lately.

I didn’t do them before, I’ve been hanging.

So now when I shower or use the bathroom I will stretch anywhere from 5 to 10 min.

Why do manuals when you can control the force and duration of your “Stretch” work handsfree?

You are so right djrobins.

I think that you can exhaust the gain by either manual stretching or hanging, because they have the same concept.

Well if you where in jail or had limited resource, you would resort to manuals, or hanging a “clothes iron” off it…

I would be interested in your experiences as well

I switched to hanging because my hands/shoulders really started to hurt after a while.

I’ve been known to break things with my bare hands. I sure as hell don’t want one of those things to be my penis. I can’t say whether or not I’ve had success since I’ve never really had a good stretch of time with which to make a good effort. It seems that any time I’m comfortable enough with my routine to start up a PE routine, my life changes and then I don’t had time for PE again.

I started hanging prematurely because I thought it was the Holy Grail.

Now I know better and stick with manual work. Less work and better results.

I might go back to hanging in the future though;)

I started hanging because it sounded like alot less work, and now that I have it down, it is! I am hanging for 2 hours a day almost every day, but during that time I am able to read and study comfortably.

I can’t say that I started to hang because manuals were not producing results. Because I was never very consistent with manuals. Due to the fact that I don’t enjoy the hand pulling work, I work with my hands all day for crying out loud.

Consistency equals gains I believe. Because I have the privacy and time and enjoy hanging I am consistent at it, and have even started to measure now, because it’s not so depressing anymore to do so.

Hanging becomes addictive, it is quite pleasurable and almost sexual. I wish it were acceptable in public places, maybe restaurants you would have the linen tablecloth for discretion. “These are our specials tonight, and will you be starting with ten or fifteen lbs this evening?”

I gained 1/2” in the 1st couple of months doing PE and then only about 1/8” over the next 6 months. So i started focusing on hanging a couple of months ago. So far nothing positive to report back.

I gained well my first few months using a minimal manual routine. Then I hit a rut. Hanging brought almost all my further length gains.

Thanks that’s really interesting. I have been PEing for 3 years and am on a plateau for a very long time. So I hope hanging gives me further gains.
