Just to show that even someone like me who’s been at this stuff off and, on for over 3 years can get carried away. I have not used weights in over a year but, much to my pleasant surprise, I was able to start right back Saturday morning with 17.5lbs. Even though I could hang that weight it was too heavy and, I knew better. I even did one full 20 minute set with 20lbs. Since Saturday morning (three days back at it) I have hung over 12 sets. I knew better! I can handle the weight but, not that many sets yet. I have to work back up to it. My point is, I am very bruised as a result. My glans is bruised and, all the way around my circumcision scar about 1/2” wide is bruised. SO, kids… take it from me….work up to it and, dont get carried away!

Yikes guy … glad you put the warning for those who are thinking of using weights. I would never put a strain like that on my penis. After all it is the only one I have and will have. No weight hanging for this Aussie.

Hello! This is my first post… I have started just a week ago

Is it really important to hang such heavy weights? Isn’t the main idea of hanging to give an appropriate stress on the ligs and to give as little stress on the shaft, the skin and the glans as possible?

I do 4x15min sessions with 5.5 lbs. I feel my ligs stressed while hanging. And after it they do not ache the same way if you compare the feeling with the leg’s ligs after stretching exercises…
So the question is: should it be that way, or should I put some more weight to make them ache (which means they have been stretched)?

I sounds as if you are doing it exactly correct, especially for one week into hanging. SWM is an experienced hanger, and just started back a little to forcefully.

As you get more experience, and your penis becomes adjusted, you might want to increase the stress to become fatigued. Then, try to hang a few sets while fatigued.

That thought sounds very familiar - Oh thats it, it is exactly the same as this Kiwi (thats me you understand) thought when he saw guys hanging weights from their dicks.

I’ve been doing it for quite a while now, sometimes at 33lbs depending on the angle, and would recommend it.

Obviously like our friend Vermut, one must start with the upmost caution, but I personally feel there is no better ‘exercise’ for length gains per time spent - the advantage of hands off PE is tremendous.

Although I have been doing DLD’s routine for the past month and a half, I never stopped hanging. I still do fulcrum hanging and I also do some hanging straight out to work the tunica. Maybe it’s foolish to mix routines like that, but it worked for me and I’m still in hanging shape. You know what you need to do - lighten up a little and do a few less sets. You will be back into the swing before you know it. Good luck.

Yea guys, I did not mean this post to discourage anyone! Was just illustrating the fact that I had over done it even though I knew better after having been “off” for so long.

When I first visited this site I thought everyone were desperate losers hanging weights and risking injury to their most precious of precious equipment.

Well I read more and more and more, and soon concluded that hanging should be safe and injury free so long as you start with a really light weight and work your way up. Also, it helps having equipment made with such quality as Bib’s hangers. I bought a junior one which I’m using first, and I’m hoping to graduate to the full one at some stage.

I’m hanging with 5kg, and and going to ramp it up to 7.5kg in the not too distant future. No injuries so far, and not expecting any.
