Hanging with bib and no gains so far

Hi there

I used to hang with a simple homemade hanger for about 6 months and gained about half an inch. To hang safer, i bought the bib starter and started hanging with it. I noticed a lot of skin stretching and much more skin and fluid build up at the head of my penis. I also need to say, that i put the hanger on when i am not completely soft (i am uncircumsiced) because if i do it slips over the head. So i leave some blood in my penis head in order to stop the hanger.
Now i am hanging since about 1 year and i made no gains at all so far. Since about 2 months i also started hanging over a stick.
I started with 2 pounds and worked my way up the about 9 pounds.

i warm up and i warm down. I make 3 sets of 20min - 5 days a week. I jelq between sets. I do actually everything as i learnt it here :-)

From the beginning i had a worse feeling with the bib hanger - i just didn’t feel the same stretch as with my homemade hanger, which was just a simple cable clamp with screws. No i am even thinking about just switching back to my old hanger, but this can’t be the solution, can it?

Any help, tips or whatever is greatly appreciated.

Are you using any wrapping with your hanger? If wrap your penis before putting on the hanger, it will grip better. Bib is the expert on using his equipment, so you might want to ask him for advice. It can be tricky to get the wrapping right, to adjust the right tension, etc.

I don’t think that gains depend so much on the hanger as on the technique. You want something that gets a good grip on your penis, allows you to ride the weight until you reach fatigue, and is reasonably comfortable. If you can do that better with your old homemade hanger, there is nothing at all wrong with that.

Live long and prosper.

I am going to guess you didn’t really read his instructions on his website.

You are going to get skin stretching and fluid build up if the hanger isn’t tight enough. The hanger should not move forward at all, when it is properly tightened.

You are trying to compensate for it moving forward by hanging with a blood plug. This is very bad. At low weights this might not be an issue. But as you move up in weight it creates a great deal of pressure on the head of the penis. This pressure can even cause a skin tear near the exit of your urethra. This pressure might even cause more issues.

I do everything I can to push back all blood from the head of my penis. The hanger is staying on by gripping my internals.

When you do this correctly it might be a little to intense. So my advice would be to drop down in weight and practice putting on the hanger with minimal blood in the head. If the hanger slips forward at all, it isn’t tight enough. If you are hanging with a Bib and you feel like your skin is burning, then it is primarily targeting the skin. You avoid this by tightening the hanger.

Now in order to hang with minimal blood, I am going to guess you will need to adjust the bottom nut configuration.

Getting the initial set up of wrap and hanger nut settings is one of the most difficult things about the Bib. Once you get it close you just want to slowly dial it in to the the right setting. I really think you should go to his website and read.

I don’t mean to come off as harsh. It is just you are not following the most basic instruction in regards to the Bib hanger. You should never hang with a partial erection. You should never hang with a blood plug. The hanger should not slip forward.

After a year you probably should have reached a greater hanging weight. However, in your case it is probably a good thing that you didn’t. Due to the risk of injury.

hi bhcentral

i really appreciate your input. you are a little bit wrong, but not completely. i read everything on the bib-site, but i just couldn’t manage it, because no matter how hard i tried my foreskin always slipped forward. i tried many different wrappings as well with no results. but after reading your input i will give it another try and then i hope for the best.
Thanks again and happy hanging!

No problem. There are several posts on his site about people with foreskin. I can’t relate to it but hopefully you can find someone who has gone through the same experience and learn what they did.

I truly didn’t mean to come off harsh. I just don’t want anyone to hurt themselves.

What a bummer

I tried two evenings for several hours with plenty of different approaches. It simply doesn’t work the way it is supposed to work. Even when i almost fully close the hanger and squash my penis it is still moving. My girth is 5.5 so not too small i guess. So i will just keep on hanging with a little more blood in me glans so it stops the hanger. And i don’t think that i stretch too much skin that way (even if it did…) because my skin at the base is still a little bit lose while i hang.
I really tried it all with different wrappings, positioning etc…it simply didnd’t work…

From everything I am reading you need to adjust the bottom nuts or your wrap thickness. Most likely it is the bottom nuts. If it is completely closing and yet not gripping strong enough then the nuts need to go down more. I believe this would be a turn to the left.

There have been people with a lot more and less girth than you, that have been able to get it to grip. In my opinion this is absolutely the hardest part of the hanger. Getting the nut settings with your girth and wrap. However, once you get it correctly it will be a world of difference. It should grip so tight that the hanger will not slide forward at all.

Once you have those bottom nut settings correct you will probably not touch them for a long time. Even when you do it will just be a slight quarter turn.

Now when I have those settings correct then I have a routine that I follow. I tighten the hanger squeezing all blood back from the glans. I use my other hand to bring both sides together so all the stress is not on the wingnut. Then I let is sit for a moment. Then I try to give the wingnut another turn or two while gripping both sides together.

If it is unable to turn then I start adding weight. I go in 2.5 pound increments but slowly. I am feeling for any motion forward of the hanger, and I am letting my penis adapt to each weight change. It is very common for me to tighten the wingnut a few more times during the process of getting up to my full hanging weight. For my first set of the day it could take me 3 to 5 minutes to get to full weight. The entire time I am continuing to see if I can tighten the wingnut some more.

After the first set of hanging, this process will only take maybe 1-2 minutes for each following set. No matter how hard I tighten the hanger, there will always be a little gap in the top teeth. They will never be completely meshed. If they are meshed this is a sign that your bottom nut configuration is wrong.

When I have the hanger completely tightened it has a vice grip on my penis. It will not be going anywhere. When everything is perfect it will feel like I could hang any amount of weight. Regretfully it is not always perfect. My girth is not uniform down my shaft. So I try to find a reference point for the front of my wrap. I then try to keep the exact same distance from the hanger to the front of the wrap. The more consistent you are with this, the much better your hanging career will be.

My first 6 weeks of hanging where just getting this process correct. I believe because I was so careful in learning this stage, I have been able to avoid injury. Under 10 pounds of hanging you can make more mistakes. But as you increase weight the mistakes compound. There have been people that hang with a blood plug and they start losing sensation in their penis. This is not a good sign.

Thanks again bhcentral.

Since you put so much effort in this thread i need at least to try it again and again. I will let you know…

Great explanations from one of my favorite men here.
However it seems a bit of a nuisance having to adjust the wrap and hanger everyday.

Have you pull it off yet danger?

The adjustment to wrap and hanger only need to be done until it is correct. Then it will be the same setting for quite some time. After that you might need to do a small tweak here and there.

I ended up adding girth which I still am not sure how. But this did require adjustment to wrap and hanger. If I had noticed the girth was increasing a little tweak over weeks would have been enough.

Time for a little recap.

Well, i think than 1 out of 4 times i hit it perfect and i feel the stretch, but then, for example for my second set, my penis is so different then at the beginning that i can’t always manage to get a good grip for hanging. Really hard to explain, but that’s just what it is. It simply doen’t work always the same but i guess i just keep on trying…

I can’t quote exactly what Bib says about this but I will go by what I remember. You want to have your hanger actually set up for the second set.

In the process of hanging your first set some fluids or something get pushed out or something like that. He actually has a specific name for this. So the dimension of your penis actually are slightly different in your second set. Usually your girth is slightly smaller if I remember. So your first set the teeth will definitely be farther apart. Then the second set the top teeth will be closer. If your first set feels good but the teeth are almost completely meshed then you probably need to adjust the bottom nuts to bring the bottom slightly closer together. The other option is to add a little more wrap.

What you are describing I have gone through myself. Most compression hangers do go through this. Some who accidentally have it set for the second set probably don’t even realize it. They just notice that the second set is more comfortable and they seem to be able to tighten the hanger more than normal.

I know from experience this is all a pain in the butt. However, once you get this all right you will just need to do slight adjustments over the rest of your hanging career. Like a quarter turn of a bottom nut and not touching it again for months.

The only other advice I can give you is in regards to being consistent in hanger placement. This actually took me a long time to learn. Because the penis is not perfectly uniform down the shaft, the hanger will grip different areas differently. So try to find an exact spot on your penis for the leading edge of the wrap. Try to get this same spot every time. Then try to be very precise in how far back the hanger attaches from the leading edge of the wrap. Consistency is very important in getting that same grip every time.

Sorry to say, it’s a terrible, terrible hanger. I would do vacuum hanging .Problem with that at a certain weight you have to stop weight increase, but you can add more sets. Anyways, when I hear guys hanging “20+ pounds” with BIB I question it. After 10 pounds, BIB becomes unbearable no matter how you hang or do your “BIB voodoo”.. A lot of what BIB says, and I am going get it for this,is “bro science” and probably is made up as he goes. He has no science background and his claims are dubious at best.

My first set even after a break is 10 pounds. I don’t have a problem with it at all. I have done 17.5 pounds without a problem. I am positive I can do 20 pounds plus. I believe I have seen pictures of people up to 30 pounds plus but it has been a long time. It really comes down to the initial set up. It is very important. Just the toe in vs toe out is a big difference in comfort. The issue for me is when I push to fast my skin hasn’t built up conditioning for it.

I don’t doubt about bro science being part of it. However, when he answers peoples questions it is the same issues I have. He is also very consistent with the answers over the years and many of those answers have helped me.

I do understand the frustration part, but I am positive you don’t have the configuration correctly. There have been many people on this forum and his that have gone beyond 10 pounds and haven’t had any issues with it. Now the first time I did hanging it took me 6 weeks to get to 10 pounds. A big part of this was making sure I had things set up correctly.

I respect your opinion and thought out answer but I honestly believe for a portion of males, BIB hanger will never work. No matter how it’s configured I think some people will never be able to use a crush style of hanger, I am one of those guys unfortunately.
