I have slowly come to the realization that I will not be able to hang 7 days a week, unfortunately. 5 days a week is most always achieved, and 6 is sometimes achieved.

I find my hanging session the day following a missed day I am able to hang the weight I left off at too comfortably. From reading I am coming to understand that this is probably a bad thing as I’m not really riding the fatigue and may instead just be strengthening the ligs.

My question is should I jump the weight a couple pounds on those days following a missed day or are there other ways to manage unplanned and undesired rest days? Alternatively, if 5 days is just not enough for hanging, other suggestions or opinions are always welcome.

Try increasing the weight a little and see what happens. I understand the current thinking is to keep the weight as low as possible, but it sounds as if you need more stress in a day.

Maybe more sets At the same weight?


Began December 2009 at 5 7/8" length and 5" girth.

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.
