I did my first hanging routine today

30 min - no heat - 1lb 2oz (0.5kg)
1hr - heat - 2lbs 3oz (1kg)
30 min - no heat - 2lb 12 oz (1.25kg)

But, I barely have any strain, like a 0.2 - 0.5cm difference in post BPFSL

Is this okay? Is okay to have only a 2% strain? Or less?

2-5mm or 2% strain is perfectly fine.

So 2% or 5mm is fine to growth?

I am 15.5cm in BPFSL and after my routine 16cm - 16.2cm

Yes 2% has worked for people in the past, myself included. The best indicator it’s working is your pre workout BPFSL starting to increase. Give it a couple of weeks to see if there is any movement. If no movement in pre BPFSL, in that time, consider a small change to the routine. You have time, heat and weight to work with so change one of these things and try again

How Long Should The Post BPFSL Last?

When I finish my routine, I got a increase of 2 - 6% of strain, giving me about 5 - 8 mm of extra BPFSL, but only remains like an hour (yeah, I’ve check several times), maybe a little more, then it becomes as it used to be

Is this okay? It should last longer? How long?

It is normal to shrink back to its original size, but you should gain 1+/- mm per week permanent.


Period 1: 06/08/2020 BPFSL: 22cm (8.66") BPEL: 22cm (8.66") EG: 15.8cm (6.25") => 09/07/2020 BPFSL: 23.9cm (9.40")

Period 2: 05/01/2021 BPFSL: 24cm (9.44") BPEL: 22cm (8.66") EG: 15.8cm (6.25") => 07/24/2021 BPFSL: 25.4cm (10.00") BPEL: 23.5cm (9.25")

Goal: 1 Foot x 7.5 Inches (30.48cm x 19.05cm) NBPEL

So the strain is not that important, but the BPSFL before doing the session is.

I mean, in my opinion its also obviously, that it is important how long your cooldown is.
Although I did not measure yet, I would expect to have a bigger strain, if my cooldown would not take 15 but 10 minutes.

Your starting weights look fine to me. I started at a low weight with the 3X20 min. sessions whenever possible. I did that for a month before increasing any weight. It worked for me, and I think you will see some length gains in that time.
