Pound Per Minute Theory PPM

I did another calculation based on Monty’s earlier post in this thread.

He said he hung on average 16lbs for 1 hour and 2lb for 8 hours per day.

Which comes out to 1920lb*min per day.

If you look at his stats he gained 2.25” in 14 months, or 420 days.

(1920*420)/2.25 = 358,400 to gain an inch.

So about 20% more lb hours than the previous estimate, although in the same ball park.

Hi guys,

Let me get this right.

The initial estimate is 1440 x 365 days giving me a grand total of 525,600 to gain one inch.
I see Laxman321 mentioned two other examples where the estimate to gain an inch came In at 358,400 and another 318,720.

Does that seem to be a rather large variation? That is a 170,00-200,000.

Anybody else use PPM to track their workout volume? My gain rate has slowed down but has been around 200,000 PPM/in (1-1.25 in gain).

May 2018 6.25" x 5.35"

Jan 2021 7.50" x 5.50"

Goal 8.00" x 6.00"

Does this mean more weight faster gains?

Without any context or constraints your premise would likely lead to quick injury.

Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

Yep. Not sure of PPM’s predictive power, but I want to track total volume.

I have actually tracked it and in my case it was 40,000 for 1/8 of an inch

Currently at 8.125 BPEL and 6.25 Girth

I have always liked this theory. Like with everything there is always a few detractors but the overall body of this theory seems to hold up. The 16-20 LB range has produced results almost to a tee in my case.

Agreed, i think people are misinterpreting this. There’s a definite coefficient here, and im using spring on a scale as an example. There would be number of years until the spring looses its calibration and will no longer retract. It just means there’s an effective weight per time that springiness looses its elasticity that it will start to elongate, and when that happens, it would no longer require even a higher weight, the scale will eventually drop further. The difference is that we’re using spring as a model whereas biologically human tissue is different, but there are several scientific concepts that are still applicable, even in physical therapy. Anyhow, we can do all kinds of math but success comes to those who actually does it. Didn’t the turtle won the race against the rabbit? Im pretty sure along the way, the turtle sped up a little bit and learned a few tricks along the way. He is not as slow as you think he is.

Not much of an experience hanger. However been extending for 10 years. Now I went from 15 to 21 with the extender, was reaching some kind of plateau (substantial growth speed lowering) which I evaded a few times using extreme techniques regarding a whole lot of time on the thing. Anyways, I decided to give hangin a try and I’m speechless now. Only did 9 hours and I now have an extra 0.5cm that wasn’t there the week before, BPEL. Measured a few times because I can’t believe my eyes and it came consistent.

I had no idea I would get newbie gains again from switching method, nor did I expect for newbie gains to come so fast. I mean, my extender newbie gains was 1cm in a month or so. This is half of that in just 5 days. Started at 4kg (8.8lb) for one session then went down to 2kg (4.4lb) and held it for the rest of the day on an exhausted lig. Then the next day I lowered the max load to 3.5kg for starters then to the 2kg. And the following days I started with 3kg and went 2kg for the following sessions. I think this will be my routine from now onwards, trying to squeeze in 1:30 to 4 hours a day when possible. So far the max has been 3 hours a day, half in the morning, the rest at night.

I believe this will slow down considerably in a few days onward. I sure hope not. Hs anybody else experienced some astonishing newbie gains from changing PE methods???
