Prevent blisters wIth vac-hanging

I’m starting up again with using a silicone cap for mine. I was able to get up to about 25lbs with my LG hanger and just wrapping and tape, but I did get a blister occasionally. I then switched to a Bib hanger and got to 40lbs before blood ended up shooting out the tip. I made .. Some mistakes. Haha!

I deconditioned for about a year and a half and just got finished focusing on my beginner manual stretching again and now starting low weight hanging and planning on doing some ADS which I didn’t do last time. I just stumbled upon the idea of using a silicone protector cap and now using baby powder to prevent fluid buildup; so, I’m gonna do both along with using microfoam tape on the end. I’ve already noticed an improvement from last time in comfort but I’m only hanging at 3bls 4hrs a day at the moment while using a powered IR heating wrap at the same time (because heat is better).

The cap makes sense since it should provide a bit more pressure on the glans to prevent fluid buildup plus the powder inside the cap absorbing the fluid as well. It can’t be worse! Honestly though, I wouldn’t do this without the tape on the tip. It’s not a big deal and I’ve never had issues with it.

I tried a Glans Cap a few times when Hanging with my VacHanger3.I have noticed after taking the hanger off the Glans Cap seems to pull away from the tip of my glans a bit creating a air pocket leaving me with swelling and puffiness around the tip. It fits snug as a bug when I put the cap on and it’s new. Is anyone else having this happen when using a cap? Should I use some tape around the bottom of the Glans cap to keep it from sliding up a bit when inside the hanger. When I just use Nexcare Absolute Waterproof tape on the whole glans I get next to nothing in Swelling or Edema. Any Thoughts.

Yes, I had the same problem. By piercing a small hole with a needle at the top of the cap, I could avoid the swelling and sliding.

So pierce the Glans cap with a small needle at the tip of the Cap fixes the problem of the cap pulling upwards off the Glans when hanging..I will try this and hope it works. Thanks for the info..

yes, I took a needle for clothes and pierced a small hole. The hole doesn’t need to be big.
Another thing I liked to do is putting a small piece of a sponge in shape of a thick coin (about 5-7 mm) at the top of the chamber.
The sponge compresses differently at different vac levels. This really helps monitoring the vacuum in the chamber.
For example: Loss of vacuum is easily detectable as the sponge gains in volume when the vacuum in the chamber decreases.
The sponge gives some cushion and the air is evacuated more evenly (larger surface than just a hole/valve before it fully compresses). This really helps with the grip because the valve can be blocked with the toe cap
(at least with my hanger design).
In combination with micropore-tape it worked well.

Moreover I cleaned the cap with soap after using it and put it in a ziploc bag filled with some babypowder.
Helps with the grip and prolongs the shelve life of the silicone.

Unbelievable no blisters!

How do you get the cap on without spilling out all the baby powder? I typically roll a cap onto the glans to get as tight a seal as possible, so not sure how to do that with powder involved.. But would like to give it a try.

I personally like using the micropore paper type of tape more than the waterproof tape. It has higher adhesion and while its very difficult to take off, I use it mainly to keep the urethra opening from opening and blisters forming.

I’m just getting back into Vac Hanging after a few years. Missed it

Finally made it work
Gosh, how long I struggled with that.

I also use a cap for hanging.
I combine those things that were suggested here (or somewhere else in another thread):
1. make a tiny whole at the end of the cap > no air bubble at the end of the cap anymore.
2. cover penis head and inside of cap with baby powder > no slipping in the cap

The only thing thats just a little uncomfortable over longer periods (when using ADS) is that the part between the head and the foreskin is uncovered when beeing in the hanger, since the hanger is too small to cover that. So its just outsider of the hanger and being pulled (without any protection).
So I need a cap thats longer than this one (its 4,5cm).
I wonder why those caps are so short anyways.
It would be way easier, if they would be a little too long and then everybody can it for their own size.

Hi, I started hanging 1 week back and am done with 16 hours.
I do the same as you mentioned + blue tender tape(vetwrap that came with LG) to wrap 1” below corona to push excess skin to base . I wrap the same way as I used to wrap theraband for bib minus the extra WFG + waterproof tape over foreskin covering urethra.
I do multiple 1 hour sets so I don’t remove the blue tape in between.

Anyone here used Theraband as a wrap for vacuum devices?

I’m not sure if there is a thread dedicated specifically to alternatives for vacuum glans caps, but I think I’ve come up with an idea for an alternative and relatively cheap glans cap for the DIY-minded. My Girlfriend uses something called a Diva Cup for her menstrual cycle, which is a roughly glans-shaped silicone cup. They’re quite study and for me, I’ve been using a silicone toe protector cap since I got my hanger and it just doesn’t cut it to prevent swelling or uncomfortable and irregular distention (I also tried making some from silicone caulk but they quickly fell apart, as they obviously would).

A Diva Cup is about $2 on aliexpress, little more on ebay. Anyway, I’ll report back after mine arrives, but since I got it from aliexpress…who knows when that will be. In the meantime I’m probably gonna give the micropore tape a try but I really hate adding more time-consuming steps at any stage of PE if there’s ever a simpler and equally effective option.

I had good luck with that approach too. If you decide to add weight, you might try cutting back on the session time - perhaps 45 min sessions instead of 1.5 hrs. When I did that, I could get up to 6kg without blisters.

I got mine from Amazon. Just do a search for “toe cap” and look for the ones that are the large size and made of silicone. About $2 each, and they last quite a while.

My problem with these toe caps has been that they distend under the pressure of my no-name hanger and I get some excessive glans distinction as a result. I’m not sure if it’s a serious problem ultimately but since these spots of high pressure eventually start to go numb it forces me to have to cut my hanging sessions much shorter than they could be if I had a cap that was a little more substantial. If I’m the only one who experiences this problem because of my particular and rather strange vac hanger then pay me no mind!

I just found a solution (read it on the pegym forum) to the difficult and painful task of peeling micropore tape off: warm water. This is such a no brainier, I feel stupid for having to deal with slowly pulling the tape off in agony for so long. You can dip your junk in a glass of warm water or take the tape off in a warm shower. It comes off super easily and is relatively painless. This has the added benefit of serving as a kind of “warm-down”, if that’s part of your routine.

"Reviving" this thread as i found some really good info here. This just also proves that its a good idea to review subjects you already read about as you never know what new information you will find (after all there are thousands of posts and threads here).
My main takeaways:

Punching a whole on the silicon cap to prevent it from sliding off/getting air bubbles - this was exactly my problem and the solution works perfectly, except punching a hole with a needle wasnt enough, i used scissors to cut a 1mm wide hole.

Putting a foam pad inside the vac cup to prevent the silicon cap from sealing the hole and to have a more even spread of suction. (I already figured this one out from JelqToGain videos but its still a great thing to know that i dont see mention too often)

Now about my experience: I think I got blisters because if i had a drop of pee leak out it would detach the tape. Some people use talc powder to help with this, but i dont really like that for some reason. My solution to this is to tape with micropore in a way that I leave the urethra open and then i put a piece of band aid over it, with the foam part of the band aid covering the urethra. This foam should absorb any pee/moisture. I have only tried it once so far, and it worked perfectly but its too early to tell if its a good technique or not.

I will leave an update after some time. Has anyone else tried using band aid this way?
