When to change angles?

When to change angles?

With a LOT of around 9:00 I have been hanging SD and BTC 90% of the time with a little SO now and then. My question is this: Will there come a time when hanging SD/BTC has done all it can and I will then need to change angles? If so, would evidence of this be noticeable, i.e. there is a lack of lig pull when hanging SD or BTC?

Though I am not to such a point (if it can be reached at all), should I get there I want to have plan B in place.

Thanks for any input.

Marty

Good question, Marty:

Maybe bib, or some of the vets will chime in on this one. I was wondering just the reverse. For us low LOTers that have been doing months of tunicia work, hanging high so to speak, when will we know when to move down to lower angles? I’ve heard some say your LOT changes eventually, but I feel it is a slow gradual change, because after eight months of hanging OTS my LOT is still BTC.

There will come a time, if you continue long enough, when your ligs will have elongated, lowering your LOT, and you will need to switch to the upper angles as primary. However, much evidence has been produced that while hanging at the upper angles, your LOT will rise again, at least somewhat, and you will be able to further utilize the lower angles. Kind of a see-saw effect.

>If so, would evidence of this be noticeable, i.e. there is a lack of lig pull when hanging SD or BTC?<

Especially if you hang primarily at the BTC angle, you will notice your entire package lowering over time, your exit point getting nearer your anus, more length, a lower LOT, etc. The LOT and a plateau are probably the best factors to gauge when you have exhausted the lower angles. But also, I could feel a lack of a good stretch when I had exhausted the BTC angle.

Strange that it should occur after posting these questions, but last night after I completed my hanging session I noticed a different soreness. In the past the soreness was more on top of the base and upward into the pubic area. Tonight, however, the soreness extended from both sides of the shaft out toward my legs. Nothing new with my hanging … same ole, same ole.

Perhaps this is a sign that the top side has stretched to the length of the side anchors and now I am stretching different anchors? When I thought about it, I do remember over the past few sessions feeling more of a pull to the sides, almost under my shaft.

All the above was felt hanging SD with 7.5 and 10 pounds.

Thanks for the previous replies and I would gratefully welcome more. Nothing like having an idea as to what is taking place down there.

marty,

Yes I got this with downward angles too. I see it as a good sign, since to stress these longer fibers with the same angle you must have made some progress, even if it does not register on the ruler yet.

As you are actually feeling soreness in a new area, I don’t see a reason to change what you are doing. Just stay consistent.

Good Luck

I appreciate the advice and comments. I take them all to heart and welcome one and all.

The more I thought about the new pulling sensation, the more I recalled. I remember when the new sensation first occured. I actually thought I’d gotten the wrapping wrong and I was pulling the skin below my shaft. I stopped, unwrapped, and went at it again. Same results, same pull and slight burn. I worked through it thinking it was the skin after trying the wrapping yet a third time.

I am sitting her right now with 12.5 SD. The pull is to both sides of the shaft toward the inside of my legs, even more so on the right side. The enbalance between sides has been evident regardless of where the pull initiated from throughout my brief hanging experience.

Last night I thought I all but exhausted my unit. Tonight, however, I started at 7.5 and warmed up to it for about 5 minutes. I changed to 10 pounds and did not feel a strong pull. I slide 2.5 to make 12.5 total and now I have a nice tug. Never had to use 12.5 in the past. It was just too much.

And for the record, I was laying on the couch today in a pair of boxers. My wife reached down and grabbed my tool and said, “I believe it is getting bigger.” That’s better than a good measurement! And she is right. Since I started hanging I have noticed a tremendous difference in flaccid hang.

Thanks again for the input. Send more when you think I need it.

I usually only hang BTC, but found out a different hanging ‘angle’ for the actual weights. What exactly is going on here I haven’t figured out, and so far, don’t care to. Anyway, If you’re using the commercial BIB hanger, (and have the strap set loosely enough) then check this out:

One time whilst hanging I found that something felt ‘different’ and I could last longer doing a hanging set. I looked down to the BIB and found that the piece of plastic (don’t know what it’s called) that controls the amount of material supplied to the S-hook was caught on the lowest screw. (you know, the ones that control the toe-in, toe-out gap settings)

Since then, I’ve regularly purposely “caught” that piece of plastic on that screw, from time to time, to pull on what seems like different parts of the ligs. It feels like it’s doing something good, so I thought I’d mention it. Also, I don’t ACTUALLY last longer with the BIB set like this; I only lasted longer compared to the “intended” or regular way of hanging. (because I had already worn myself out the regular way earlier that night)
