Bathmate with Mityvac bleeder mod

Hey fellas, figured I’d share this mod since I just completed the set up and can confirm it works accurately. I purchased an MV8000 Mityvac break bleeder pump on Amazon for $50 and successfully coupled it to my Hydromax 7 Extreme and getting accurate readings.

The kit comes with tubing, water trap and a number of adapter/couplers. Very simply, disconnect the valve coupling from the handball and connect it to the silicone tubing provided in the kit and connect the tubing to the pump. Connect as you would the hand ball and have a go!

Dry performance works great. I was able to easily measure vacuum and pressure held consistent. One thing to note, you cannot use the trigger release on the Mityvac pump since the bathmate quick release valve is self sealing.

Pretty amazing I have to say, I suspected I was going over 5hg before, but using this mod, I now know I was going way over 5hg and probably double that during some sessions. 5hg doesnt even collapse one of the 3 bellows.

Wet performance - I briefly tested it wet and it worked equally as well with the water trap attached. However I would suggest buying a larger water trap for it as the one provided maxed out relatively quickly. Larger traps are available Amazon. Pressures certainly were much higher, around 15hg to 20hg, however based on feel, most of this pressure is being exerted on the water as 15hg seemed similar in feel to 5hg dry, so while there’s speculation that this device exerts more vacuum pressure wet, and thats true, I feel the safety of that pressure is still likely acceptable while being used wet since the water is buffering the force from the vacuum

Using the Mityvac pump makes me feel way more comfortable that I’m not getting into the danger zone, is easily as convenient as using the hand ball pump and now I can precisely vary vacuum pressure throughout my sessions and accurately fine tune. Definitey recommend it as a cheap and invaluable mod for any Bathmate owner.
