Bruising

Bruising

Hi Guys, I’ve been hanging and pumping for about 4 months now. I used to pump at higher levels up to 10-15 hg, then realized more is not always better,so I’ve tried to maintain pumping in the 5-6 hg level and just stay longer in the tube (30 min), which was working great. Lately though I am bruising quite abit on the top shaft near the base at only 15 minutes in the tube at the lower presure levels, and don’t understand why. As I then have to take a couple days off pumping ‘til the brusing clears up. Has this happened to anyone else, or does anyone have any ideas as to why this may be happening?

Thanks Gram40

Yes, the bruising seems to have an add on effect even at the lower pressures. I am into the same thing now because I have tried to go a couple of weeks now with no rest days. I took a rest day yesterday and might take one more today and am clearing up fast. I have to get it into my head that I can’t rush this. I am going back to my old weekly schedule of 2 on 1 off, 3 on 1 off. Everything seems to stay in control for me on that schedule.

the thing is I used to pump almost everyday at higher levels with no such problem, now even when I rest 2-3 days for the bruising to disappear and start again within 5 minutes I can tell the brusing is starting even at 4-5 hg….it’s really starting to piss me off, cause the effect of the pumping was looking real good…not sure what to do……..

I think you are going to have to bite the bullet and take off a week to 10 days and then start again, easy does it. It has happened just like that to me before. It sucks, but total healing is the best remedy.

gram40, what kind of bruising are you getting, specifically? Is it simply a darker colored area, or something worse? Also, what kind of cylinder do you use? Does it have a fairly wide flair at the base, or is it completely stright-sided? Are you using adequate lube in the problem area?

hey gprent 101 you might be right, I’ll take off at least week and see what happens…….WannaB9x7.it’s a darker colored area, but I know each time I pump I can tell it’s small blood vessels I think breaking, you know like when a person normally bruises, that’s what it looks like. The pump I use is an LA Pump and flared cylinder, the thing that’s frusterating is it just started alittle while ago and I’m not even pumping at higher levels anymore……go figure……..I will take some time off to see what happens….and yes I’ve always got some sort of lube on……..

I agree. Take off a week or two. PE newbies may actually bruise, but PE vets tend to complain about discoloration. What is happening is the blood is being pulled towards the outer layers of the skin and is trapped there. It oxidizes and turns brown. This type of discoloration may take up to 6-12 months to fade, however, it may not fade 100%. One time I took a year off PE, the discoloration faded about 75%. IMO, Arnica and other fading creams/cures do not work very well and most don’t work at all. If there is one thing I hate about PE, it’s foreskin discoloration.
