I’ve tried the condom pumping three times now, but I can’t tell much difference in terms of reduction of edema.
I think the main issue is that I’m using more pressure than most recommend. If I stay under 5Hg then there’s barely enough pressure to pull my dick straight out (assuming the gauge is correct). If I go much higher then I get the usual edema symptoms often reported. The gauge is marked in green up to around 6Hg, then amber up to around 12Hg. Do you think these colours have anything to do with pumping, or more to do with the original intent of the pump design (it has a logo saying ‘minivac’ on it).
Before I ever started pumping I was hoping that a low pressure would be enough to engorge the penis fully without having to get to silly vacuum levels, as I’m a believer in low force / long duration exercises. I was hoping that condom pumping might help that cause, as the theory seems good. Are my aspirations at odd with the whole pumping ideology? Perhaps I need to find some thicker condoms.
Another thing I should mention that may or may not be relevant: The tube is too big for me (about 2.2” internal) as I’m only a little over 5 1/4”G. The tube came with some rubber collars to go on the end marked M/L/XL. I use the XL which is great for getting a quick seal, but even at my modest girth this feels incredibly tight once erect. My gut feeling is that I should get a smaller diameter tube but with bigger collars.
