Cylinder sleeve, do-nut, cushion, which one?

Cylinder sleeve, do-nut, cushion, which one?

I am needing advice/opinions on which cylinder sleeve, do-nut, cushion is the best & most durable. I am concerned with maximum comfort nor necessarily sealing. The problem, as I see it ,is that the sleeves most widely sold are made of silicone. This presents 2 problems. First is that silicone is not overly durable and second it will not hold up to repeated exposure to oil based lubes. I use a vegetable based oil for lube when pumping. I prefer the feel and the low cost.

Do any of you have any experience with a sleeve that will hold up under these requirements. I know of one that is made of neoprene but it doesn’t look like it would provide much cushioning. It is more of a seal. I am not worried about the seal, just the cushioning for extended pumping sessions.

Appreciate any and all ideas or experiences with sleeves, do-nuts, cushions. Thanks, Paco

Don’t use one. I used one for a few months when I first got my pump and it gave me some bad discoloration above the ring. I don’t mind if my whole penis is darker, but it looks funny when there’s a distinct line.

Start: (Aug 2001): 6 1/2 bpel x 4 7/8 mseg

Current: (6/24/14): 7 3/4 bpel (7 nbp) x 5 5/8 mseg. BEG 6 1/4. BPFSL 8 1/8.

Goals: First: 7 1/2 bpel x 5 1/2 mseg ACHIEVED! Current Goal: 7 nbp x 5 3/4 mseg (almost there!)

After pumping for more than just a few minute the cylinder pressing on my pubic bone is very uncomfortable. I am not concerned about any discoloration, just eliminating the discomfort.

I have found the BRK Collar from PumpToys (thick silicone) to be the most comfortable cylinder “sleeve” I have ever used. I have used one for almost four years and it is still as functional as it was the day I received it. I did have to order a larger size to fit my latest, larger cylinder.

Dtwarren,

That’s what I was hoping to hear. Thanks I’ll check into it.

Dtwarren,

Help me out here on matching up the collar to tube size. What size collar works for the 2”, the2.25”, & the 2.5” tubes? What size collar are you using for your tube? Thanks for your help. Paco

When I bought mine, i believe there were only two sizes - 1.25” which fit my 1.5” and 1.75” cylinders and the 1.5” collar which fits my 2” cylinder and probably a 2.25” cylinder. However, I suggest you e-mail PumpToys and ask them directly. I only paid $15 so I assume they are the “non” silicone collars, but I am still using my first collar which I bought almost four years ago.

Thanks, that’s what I need to know. I’ll e-mail them today. Appreciate the info.

Do you really need to use a collar? Most of the time I use the tube only.

Not if you use a thick walled or flanged edge cylinder. However, it makes a thin walled plastic cylinder comfortable. It also makes a thick walled cylinder even more comfortable. The more comfortable the cylinder is, the more likely it is you will use it more often and for longer stretches.

Is it a good technique to pump with a cock ring on?

Tight cock rings cut off circulation and need to be removed after twenty minutes or so to avoid damage from lack of blood carrying oxygen. This would interfere with longer pumping routines. A softer cock ring would probably be ok and might maintain the pumped engorgement a while longer.

A couple of comments:

Sleeves are controversial here - some like them and some hate them. My suggestion is try a few and form your own opinion. I think it is best to not reduce the cylinder size. A cushion is nice and comfortable - so at higher vacuum this is a good idea. They are cheap so try a few and go from there.

Cock rings or anything that reduces circulation of lymphatic fluid is a bad idea - in my opinion. Circulation, i.e. flow of fluids (blood & lymph) is good. So, I do not like cock rings.
