Destroying Pump Cylinders

Over the last two years I have destroyed three pumping cylinders. 2 from Leluv and the latest from LA Pump. The first two developed cracks bad enough that I didn’t want to risk my penis in that negative pressure situation. The last one in the span of two pumping sessions first developed a crack that encircled the cylinder and broke in half in the next session. I typically pump for 30 minutes with varying pressure never exceeding about 6 hg. I keep the cylinder wrapped in a heating pad throughout. I am using a standard brake bleeder hand pump with the cylinders. Does anyone have insight into why this keeps happening? I am ready to invest in a thickwall cylinder next but if I am doing something incorrectly I don’t want to destroy another cylinder.

Are the cracks occuring at joins? What are you cleaning them with? What kind of heating pad do you use? Plastics break down under some chemicals and certain light spectrum.

I have used LeLuv cylinders exclusively for a couple of years, wrap them with an electric heating pad (conventional thermal pad), and have not had any issues with them. I only clean with soap and water.

I have been cleaning with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol exclusively. The cracks are happening on the sides of the cylinder itself. I think you may have just answered my question. It is the only variable that makes sense. Thanks!

Yeah, I’d try a different cleaner. As a moonshiner, I used to carbon filter my product through a brita filter until the jug started crazing. That was some pretty strong ethanol but the exposure wasn’t long and it isn’t hard to imagine that isopropyl could have a similar effect. It makes sense to start there

We make medical devices where I work. Few plastics will hold up to isopropyl alcohol continuously, especially not the plastic cylinders are made of. Have two leluv cylinders and never had an issue.

Just use dish soap and water and a big bottle brush.
