Electric Pump with Water

Electric Pump with Water

I’ve used the Tetra Whisper Pump for years but always wanted to pump in hot water and now that I have a soaker tub I’d like to rig it up.

How do you apply this without damaging the whisper? Is there a better option that can pump water or do you use a huge jar or something to transfer the pressure?

You would need to setup a “water trap”, which there are plenty of threads discussing. So you should be able to figure out how to do that.

Although it seems like not the best idea to try and mix water pumping with an electric pump, regardless. Aside from the obvious issues, I would think that even if you got it to work you would always run the risk of destroying an electric pump all from a silly mistake.

At least with hand pumps, you only ever risk needing to replace a 40 dollar hand pump. And while water is not good when it goes through a hand pump, its more forgiving Im sure than waterlogging an electric pump.

"Pain is temporary, pride is forever."

I use the brake bleeder trap like this but it has to be dumped repeatedly. I’d like something you can just drop in the tub and let it work.

2014: 8.4 x 5.5

2022: 9 x 6.2

It will work until the breaker trips.

Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

A small fluid transfer pump would do it… put a T in the line on the negative side to have a controllable leak to control vacuum… and a variable speed switch for motor speed would give a vibrating “pulsing” effect, and without question use on a gfci circuit

Would be EXTREMELY Dangerous if done haphazardly… fluid hydraulics are not forgiving like pneumatic hydraulics

I make sure that the electric cord leading from the outlet into the bathtub has a drip loop—like you’d have with a wet tile saw. That makes it completely safe.

NO IT DOES NOT, GETTING ELECTRIFIED UNTIL THE BREAKER TRIPS COULD TAKE A LIL BIT… that’s why GFCI circuits are code around wet locations ground fault circuit interuptors.

That’s why toaster bath isn’t a thing anymore
