LAPDist Pump - Metal in female coupling?

I was hoping that someone with an LAPdist pump could let me know whether there is metal inside the coupling.

My descent pump from ebay has a plastic female coupling, but there is metal inside, and it is being rusted from water pumping. Now the cylinder does not hold the vacuum as well as it used to.

Yes, there is metal in the lapdist female coupling. I think there is metal in all quick disconnect female couplings. I have several types of female couplings including lapdist and all of the metal parts I am guessing are stainless steel and not a hint of rust or corrosion on any of them and they get wet all of the time.

I think it is very unusual that you got one that rusts from any manufacturer.
