Welcome to the pumping crew!
My only real tips and trick to offer that are general are:
Keep the pressure low. Start with short times and work up. You’ll know when it’s been too long. There’s no benefit to over pumping. Looks cool, feels cool, but a slight engorgement over your real engorgement is all you need to change the cells. Over pumping is damaging, and can result in retraction. It gets hurt, it knows it, and shrivels. If it’s tingling, it’s too much.
If you can, find a way, add some heat. Sit in front of a lamp, use a heat pad, anything helps.
Use a quality sleeve, sized to you. I always have to modify my new sleeves with trimming. I’m in between sizes I guess. It should be sized such that enter easy, exit easy. You shouldn’t have to “yard” it out.
I wouldn’t use rings just yet. Learn the tube, and what it does. Learn your piece, and how it reacts. If a ring makes sense later, by all means, go for it. I don’t use them, I have, and I can’t recognize a benefit in conjunction with the pump.
Whatever you do, “do not”, pump with the ring on.
Ringin up and edging after a cool down, could be part of your routine, though.
That’s about all I can say that you won’t have to find out yourself.
Don’t hesitate to ask more questions.
