Hey guys,

I’ve got a pump last month. I didn’t start using it, (seriously) because I’m really confused:

The pump is 8 inches long and 6.5 wide. My penis is 7 BPEL and 5 EG. Will the pump increase my lenght or my girth?

I’ve also heard that jelqing/stretching are useless if you start pumping. Is it true?

So, I should warm up and pump until I get a good strecth inside, than keep the pressure.FOR HOW LONG?
I really don’t know. 10 minutes would be enough?

Wherever did you hear that? It’s not so.

First, read Pumping 101. Once you’ve conditioned yourself to pumping, you can then incorporate jelking and stretches in between your pump sets.

Thinking of getting one and just wondering if mineral oil are alright for lubrication ?

I second Avocet8.

Read Vacuum Pumping 101. There’s good information there about routines.

And the very first post there (by Avocet8, by the way) talks about jelqing and gives a sample routine. How much more convenient could that be? I think jelqing is a very good complement to pumping. I never pump without jelqing.

Will the pump increase your length or girth? Maybe. It may increase one, the other, both or neither.

From Gprent’s excellent thread Selecting Your Cylinder Size, it sounds like that cylinder might be a little large for you, so be very careful with your pumping, lest you start pulling your scrotum and balls into the cylinder during your session.

Mineral oil may not be a problem with the cylinder, but may be a problem with the pump seals.

I would think a vegetable oil might be better for your skin

As the vets have pointed out Vacuum Pumping 101 s a good start and you should be good to go, as for lubrication I have found that baby oil and lotion work well for me, Vaseline or like substances are a little more messy for me. Where as the other lubrication methods are easily absorbed.

I would agree with that, for jelquing.

For pumping, I have observed (and others have noted) that vegetable oil can get ‘gummy’ with time. This is not a problem with the cylinder, where you can easily clean it, but I worry about the vapors/aerosolized droplets being drawn into the pump and gumming things up in there.

I have a ‘waterproof’ pump but if I do use water it will cause the pump to stick and I have used vegetabale oil to lubricate it without problems. But I am more concerned with the effect of mineral oil on the skin,. You can change a pump. But skin is a little less forgiving. This site gives some good information on the subject

Thanks Boss. That’s a good point So it comes down to ‘Check the label before you use it’.

PetitFaun:

Thanks for the link.

You have a good point about the relative value of a pump and your skin, especially if you buy one of the very reasonably priced pumps from Harbor Freight .

Out of curiousity, I looked up an MSDS sheet for olive oil: . It sounds like the major hazard from olive oil is if you try to breathe it, or I suppose you could drown in it. On the same site, the MSDS sheet for mineral oil does not cite the skin irritation hazard potential of the link you posted. I’m not discounting the skin irritation potential, just noting that it is not on the MSDS.

Personally, I’ve also used Wet Platinum, which contains dimethicone, cyclomethicone and dimethiconol, which are basically silicone oils. All the MSDS sheets recommend that you don’t eat them or inhale them, and on some other health sites, some are concerned about toxicity from exposure to or absorption of silicone.

Thanks for the info Lampwick.

I have been wary about mineral oils since I tried some baby oil on my feet for hard skin and it got worse., the skin cracked, and was a bit painful to walk with.

I know there is a problem with vegetable oils . But I think it rather depends how much you pay for the oil. It undergoes several pressings, and so ranges from pure oil down to the last pressing where there is more wax in the oil . So perhaps it’s a case of ‘you pays your money and you gets what you paid for’.

As always, it comes down to personal choice, and It’s wise to be wary. So debate is always a good thing.

That makes sense. It may be that you ran into a problem in that case because the mineral oil was softening the hard skin without hydrating it. If a pumper has that problem with his penis, he probably shouldn’t be pumping. :)
