Neosporin as lube.

Neosporin as lube.

Has anyone ever tried using Neosporin as lube for pumping? I am considering using it instead of petroleum jelly due to it’s antibiotic properties. I’m think that it would help prevent the build up of bacteria so that I could go a couple days without washing my cylinder and not worry about getting an infection.

Try KY Jelly or the Target equivalent lube that sells for about half as much. Cleans up in a snap with just warm water so you can easily clean it everyday. It holds a good vacuum and will not harm any pump hardware.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Nope. Don’t mess around with that. You never want to develop a strain of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Wash your cylinder every time and dry it out with a small dishtowel. Use Dawn to cut the lube and use the hottest water you can stand. It is easy to do in the bathtub. Be careful not to drop the cylinder. Remember to unscrew and loosen the valve a bit to keep from squeezing the little o-ring. That way it will last longer.

Usually, I just use the Vaseline at the base to start a strong seal, but I lube my cock with Lubriderm or similar. The best thing is to use a water-based lube like gprent101 suggested.

Is it really that hard to wash the tube? Is it worth the risks?

solid,

I like your avatar. I was pissing around with it - colored it and made it a transparent .gif image. Hope you don’t mind. I’ve just been drawing since I was 4 yrs old; later, I started drawing with a computer.

If you want to check it out, here - it’s yours:

I agree with tomarctus on this issue.

Look in any super market or drug store and you will find all manner of “anti-bacterial” products from soaps to wound-salves to shaving cream to laundry products.

I feel that we should not use any of these unless we absolutely have to, because the opportunities for bacterial mutation become so universal when we do.

I went to the store and bought and scrub sponge with a long handle on it. I use dishwashing soap and clean it out after each use that way. Thanks for the advice guys. I’m glad you like the avatar Wad, I like the way you colored it.

My original pumping gear I bought in 1989…cylinders had recessed inner walls. Never packed until I bought new cylinder from LAPD. Let it set on shelf unused for nine months because I had to lube my dick and I do not like traditional lubes.

Was perusing Phoenix5, a site for men with prostate cancer and their companions….. Try using shaving cream: Ray on using a VED

That was June 2001….began packing!!!!

I’ve posed this several times but I’ll review it again.

First, shave cream has antimicrobial active ingredients….when it dries on inner cylinder walls….it’s like dried soap. Therefore I only wash my cylinders out about every 4-6 weeks. I don’t use that much shave cream that my dick is obscured in the cylinder.

At beginning of each pump session I immerse my dick in fruit juice glass of warm water…..this wets my head/shaft. Then I apply minimal amount of shave cream to my head/shaft/base. Ramping up to my 2 x 9” cylinder….wetting my middle finger ….I wet inner cylinder wall as far as my finger will reach… Usually amount of shave cream on my dick from 1 3//4 x 9” cylinder is sufficient for a seal to be formed between my dick base and 2 x 9” cylinder wall.

Having been trained as a microbiologist/virologist and a practicing bench scientist for many years, I have some understanding of what is safe for me. I’ve never had urethral infections or infections on shaft of my dick.

I like Gillette Foamy…it comes in different formulations…Aloe & Allantoin, Regular, etc. Most likely the shave cream has a moisturizing ingredient…..so surface of my dick is not dried out. A few times a year, Walgreen’s puts on sale 11 and 14.75 oz cans.

Just my experiences….

re:neosporin ointment

Hey guys,

I am always amazed (and thankful) for all the interesting and very helpful info that come out in these threads. One can easily get hooked reading, and reading and reading new ones and old ones! So helpful!

Have any of you ever used something called “UN-PETROLEUM JELLY”? It is really terrific and you’d swear it’s the same thing but it is not a petroleum product. It feels pretty much just like it but it’s so much easier to clean up and is a terrific skin emollient. You can find it in Health Food and Drug Stores. It’s worth looking for.

Do any of you take male enhancement herbal supplements? I’ve tried a couple with Yohimbe and find I am very, very sensitive to it. It certainly does not agree with me. Wondered about other guys who have taken it and if they have had adverse reaction like I did. It makes me dizzy, light headed, nasty headache, sick to my stomach and heart racing like crazy.

I don’t know what the advantages are but I sure as hell will not take it again.
