Pressure gauge without pump

I will travel with the airplane and I want to take my pump with me. I want to avoid any embarrassing situation at the customs when they see the hand-pump with a gauge in my luggage.

I read that some members take the cylinder and the hose only with them and use their mouths to suck out the air from the cylinder. My problem with this is that I wouldn’t be able to monitor the pressure. If I go by feeling I would create a vacuum of at least 10” Hg, which is too much.

Did anyone here ever see a pressure gauge without the pump which would fit into the cylinder opening? This way I could suck out the air, then measure the pressure. And just having a stand alone pressure gauge in the luggage wouldn’t cause any suspicions with the customs.

I’d recommend not worrying about what the customs people might think, and just take the pump you have with you. :)

Think about it this way, you’ll only face the customs people once in your whole life probably and just for a minute or so.

Edit: On a sidenote, I never used to talk about being involved in pe, but recently i realised how utter bull that is. After all, I am. So, I started to actually openly talk about my pe adventures and what I learned is that it actually shocks my friends and acquaintances. They are the ones who feel self-conscious, no me, and appear to want to steer away from the topic because of it. I bet that if customs see your pump they will probably feel the same self-consciousness and quickly let you move along.

It is not about the customs people, it is about the people which are travelling with me. Can you imagine that some of your work colleagues find out that you use a penis pump?

These I will not see for just 1 minute.

What’s bad that you work to improve yourself? I never worried about that. Besides, I disseminate the PE among my friends and colleagues. Would you worry, if someone find out that you use a dumbbells to improve your bicepses?

If anyone would see the pump he will assume I have a small dick, and the problem is that I have. I cannot take my dick out and prove otherwise.

If the customs guy thinks this I don’t care, but with someone I see everyday……

Anyway, let’s not change the topic, anyone knows where to get a stand-alone gauge without the hand-pump?

Why do you need a stand-alone pressure gauge? I suppose it’s completely useless without the pump itself. Anyway, have a look here: McMaster-Carr

I understand your concern. The trick is to put the pump and cylinder in a checked bag, not your carry-on. You are never going to see the “back stage” baggage inspectors, nor they you. Besides, they either know what the thing is already or will quickly figure it out and pass your suitcase through. I’ve never had a problem doing this.

I did, though, get caught in a crowd years ago when I put them both in my carry-on bag. Wrote about that here somewhere. This lady inspector held the damned thing up and said, “What’s this? For SCUBA diving?” I said yes. There was a male inspector nearby who grinned (he knew I wasn’t doing any diving) and made a motion waving me on. She let me through.
