Professional Cylinder and Mouth Vacuum - Need Advice

I currently use a homemade setup with an aquarium cleaner and use my mouth to create the vacuum.

I would like to upgrade my tube to a professional quality one, can anyone make any recommendations?

I am looking for something with a quick disconnect but also one that does not need a pump, I want to continue using my mouth for suction, a guage would be nice to see what pressure I am at, but I don’t think its required.

Can anyone recommend a manufacturer? … Oh yeah, I am in Canada.

I think a cylinder from picuturebrite.com would be inexpensive and work just fine. Since gauges are always attached to the vacuum pump, you are going to have to figure out how to buy a gauge and plumb it into your mouth vacuum system.

Or your can buy the pump and cylinder package from picturebrite, still a very low price and just cut the pump out of the system so you have the hose to suck on with the proper male quick disconnect to fit into the female quick disconnect on the cylinder.

Once you suck up to the vacuum that feels right, you can then disconnect the hose and the female quick disconnect will hold the vacuum. Hope this all makes sense. :)

Yes picturebrite does ship to Canada. So will any professional pump system.

Other cylinders I would recommend for a higher price would be lapdist.com (LA Pump and cockpump, all the same place) or pumptoys.com.

When I first started, I bought a cheap plastic cylinder with a bulb pump (under $15 and can be found all over the web) I subsequently bought a standard male quick release coupler ($4.95) and can attach it to my LAP and Pump Toys cylinders. Three or four squeezes on the bulb creates a 2-3 Hg vacuum in seconds and you can use your mouth to fine tune the pressure thereafter. Since it is rubber, you can use it for air and water. It is especially useful for water pumping - no big mouth fulls of water.

Picturebrite prices are great and the cylinder looks nice!

I am going to order the “dual connector hose” instead of a pump, that way I get 2 male quick disconnects for $13. It doesn’t appear as though they sell the male quick disconnects separately.
