I’ve read that releasing vacuum and pumping back up to pressure over a session is something some ppl do. Is that recommended? Does it help?

Your referring to dynamic pumping. I’ve done a good bit of that, particularly early on in my career. 5 minutes at vacuum, reduced to 1-2 inhg for about a minute, and back up again. I think it was helpful to condition and restore/facilitate blood exchange. With a good cushioning entry sleeve, this isn’t necessary.

Unless you are talking about pulse pumping, to be done right, requires an electric pump. Which would immediately adjust vacuum from 1-2 inhg to a typically seen 10 inhg or higher, within a second or two. Next to impossible with a hand pump, and rarely will a PE type electric pump do the job. Think industrial type pump, for that sort of thing.

Give it a go, see what it does for ya. It can extend time under vacuum before edema sets on, but that’s an individual result, yours may vary. I use signs of edema as a stopping point. Have fun with it.
