Pumping Routine Question

Pumping Routine Question

I’ve been pumping now for about 5 weeks with a LA Pump and 2X10” tube. My routine is 2 to 4 sets at 10 minutes apiece at 5-6 hg with jelqs and squeezes in-between. Pump feels good and I see little fluid buildup except for occasionally some at the base. No bruising or blisters. I get good expansion, though I shrink back to pretty much normal size 1 hour or so after. I feel some good lig stretch, particulary on the left side of the base. I use a neck warmer to keep the tube warm and I typically pack about 1/3rd of the way up. My girth is 5.5” at the base, 5.125” mid-shaft.

I have some questions though that experienced pumpers can hopefully answer.

1) I go into the pump with at least a half erection. When I leave the pump, it is clear to me that the erection, at least not in the traditional sense, has not held even though it looks so in the tube. How critical is it to maintain an erection through the entire session? Is that an important part of gaining?

2) I took last week off as I was on vacation. My first pump back was my best ever in terms of expansion and maintaining that expansion afterwards. The next several days routines saw more regular results. Are breaks, either short or long, an important part of long-term gains?

3) For those long term pumpers who have seen significant gains, what characteristics (good expansion for a long period afterwards or movement up to a new tube, for example) can you describe occurred during those periods when you felt you had your best gains?

4) I thought I was on the cusp girthwise for the 1.75” tube. Plus, I didn’t want to have to buy another tube that quickly. So I got the 2” tube and it looks like it will be awhile before I pack it. Is there any correlation to gains (either girth or length) and being in a tube that you fully pack or almost pack? In other words, do you get your best gains during full pack periods?

5) As you get into your 2nd, 3rd, 4th set and beyond, should you be progressively getting bigger with each set? Is there a natural leveling off that occurs after a couple of set? Once you hit that leveling off stage, is continuing with additional sets counterproductive?

I realize these questions, or variations of them, have probably already been asked before, but I’d appreciate any advice offered.

I think it does help to maintain an erection throughout the time you’re under vacuum. This puts internal pressure on the tunica and helps with expansion and growth by combining with the pull of the vacuum.

Like most PE techniques, giving the penis a chance to rest usually sets you up for gains. Do a search for “shock routine” to find out more on this theory.

3) For those long term pumpers who have seen significant gains, what characteristics (good expansion for a long period afterwards or movement up to a new tube, for example) can you describe occurred during those periods when you felt you had your best gains?

I don’t have enough experience to answer this one.

4) I thought I was on the cusp girthwise for the 1.75” tube. Plus, I didn't want to have to buy another tube that quickly. So I got the 2” tube and it looks like it will be awhile before I pack it. From what I’ve read if you’re packing the tube that puts the stress into length gains versus more girth. Which sort of makes sense if you think about the tube as compressing and preventing “sideways” expansion. But, again, I probably don’t have enough experience to answer this.

I usually see a slight increase in length (perhaps 1/8”) with each subsequent set. I only do three so my total length expansion is about 1/4” during the pumping sessions. Over time (and combined with other PE exercises) I thing this is helping with gains. Going beyond three or four probably results in fluid accumulation and tends to be counterproductive, in my experience.

I’m sure others with more tube time will be of better help to you.

What is happening in the tube is this: If under pressure you appear to be fully erect, you are fully erect. This is not an optical illusion. Once the pressure is released, however, most of the time you quickly deflate to some advanced degree of erection, maybe full or maybe not. As Westla explained, it is the expansion under pressure that is doing the gradual work.

3) For those long term pumpers who have seen significant gains, what characteristics (good expansion for a long period afterwards or movement up to a new tube, for example) can you describe occurred during those periods when you felt you had your best gains?

For me the first inch of gain was rather quick, 4 - 5 mos. Further gains took longer but still piled on gradually.
I have never felt that packing a tube is the most important thing that can happen in PE pumping. Sure, it’s exciting to have that happen. More exciting though is having a normal (non-pumped) sexual erection that reflects all that pumping work to some degrees of length and girth gain. When it starts to feel different in your hand, it is different.

Thanks West and Avocet for the information.

The last two evenings I’ve started out with a series of erect squeezes using the C-clamp discussed awhile back on the main board, then moved on to the tube. I was heavy and full for a good time afterwards.
